When is the last time you all met a black dude who knew how to make a bomb in a pressure cooker?

Pressure cooker bomb is way too amateur for someone in the middle east. They would've caught at least 60 bodies with the bombs they construct.

The only conclusion here is that it was a white bomber, but he's probably a very intelligent social recluse

It already does. someone just gave you a list of domestic terrorists that have all gotten capital punishment.

and there is now a law to target americans as terrorists both abroad and at home.

thing is people over looked that because they assumed it was to target domestic brown skin terrorists. I swear cacs can be so dumb sometimes. they'll give up their own libreities to target a group they deem a threat.

yet everyone else have to get pulled over and searched and didn't ask to have their librieties stripped and when it is a white male, aren't protected by law makers to have that particular group searched and frisked for our own safety.

us non-criminal dark skinned people are left out here to dry. maybe I dont feel comfortable going into a theater or plane with a white guy wearing steel toe boots and trench coat, but I bet he isn't going to get searched. arabs and indians still get picked on despite the fact that more white males have committed domestic terrorist acts than any other group in the last 10 yrs.

if it were a muslim people would see it as a direct attack on america by the whole of the middle east, when in fact it's a small fukking crazy group of radical muslims. in america if anyone brown attacks whites the country takes it as a personal vendetta from an entire culture. a white guy/police officer kills a black kid nothing to see here. trayvon martin? black kid shot by the police?

if its a white guy this will be forgetten. when whites kill each other its seen as flukes, slips in the perfect race that is them, no reason to panic. dark skin person kills white people they attacking lets kill em all!

the news media, whites, and america in general (even blacks) see dark skin as a threat and thats the underlying problem. white people are seen as generally harmless so when one kills its always viewed as an isolated incident that couldn't be avoided. black guys kill its the gang violence and when arabs kill its islam coming to get us so we must militarize (the military and police) and actively hunt them because if one can kill all of them are deadly.

I usually don't read salon, but I couldn't help but be like at the potency and accuracy of this article. Great writing by this guy. White folk were a bit upset by the premise of the article though...

There's no denying the basic premise of his claim in the article. Even as a white male, it's easy to recognize the truth in his presumptions. Still, I think the fact that 70% of the nation being white has more to do with this phenomenon than it's being credited with. It in no way makes it right, but stricter "protections" against 70% of the nation would be a lot harder to inflict.

If recent history is any guide, if the bomber ends up being a white anti-government extremist, white privilege will likely mean the attack is portrayed as just an isolated incident — one that has no bearing on any larger policy debates. Put another way, white privilege will work to not only insulate whites from collective blame, but also to insulate the political debate from any fallout from the attack.

He didnt think this part through..if the perpetrator turns out to be white there will be civil liberties encroached on..you can bet on it
