although i dont personally agree, according to the US census, "arabs" are classified as whites/caucasian (as are north africans).
So if one goes by the US definitions, the majority of americans are of the same "race" (race doesn't technically exist) as arabs and/or middle easterners.

That being said, these dudes are white and if they had done something deemed positive by society, im sure other whites would have no problem claiming them as their own

If either of these two young men in Boston were linked to Al Qaeda or some other 'cell', we'd be much more pro-active towards that in the near future than we will on domestic issues perpetrated by American white males.....and pro-active for us means possibly another war, or at least a war-like operation. After the trial, someday they'll give James Holmes a sitdown interview just like they gave Timothy McVeigh one, Charles Manson, on down the line. It humanizes them, and A certain % of people out there will sympathize with them afterwards. It happens everytime.
