ECW is one of those things that should be kept in the past. When you first watched the shyt, it was revolutionary. Dudes using weapons, highly competitive matches, and cursing. shyt was a neckbeard's paradise. Looking back at ECW, it aged like 50 year old nipples.

  • Half of the promos were folks bytching about not getting put on
  • The other half was folks bytching about wanting to leave ECW for uncle Bischoff and Vince
  • The booking was atrocious :scust:
  • Beyond the Dreamer/Raven feud, no storyline made any sort of sense .
  • They shytted on WCW but put the belt on Terry Funk:comeon:

It was pretty much the And 1 of wrestling :francis:. Meaning majority of the shows were just mixtapes of past wrestling matches, segments, and interviews.

Nope. Even as a kid I knew that shyt was hot garbage juice. I remember I saw Sabu vs Sandman on some PPV in 97. It was a ladder match and to this day still one of the worst I’ve ever seen. Just those two blowing spots, saying fukk it, set up another spot, blow it, rinse wash repeat. Only thing worth watching was Ribs and the Lucia’s. My dad copped tickets to some house show in 99. Me and him left after an hour. shyt was trash and it was nothing but fat neck beards screaming show you t*ts and other corny things non stop

This is largely true. Eddie Guerrero gave that promotion the best match in the history of its existence. The RVD/Lynn and some of the Taz/Bam Bam stuff still holds up tho.

Might have to object for a moment.

RVD/Lynn was AMAZING, but I think we’re overlooking Super Crazy/Tajiri.

First time I saw the Tarantula, I was like :whoo:

Also, Danny Doring and the Amish Roadkill, Balls Mahoney & Axel Rotten, the Dudleys, Nova/Chetti....their tag team matches were dope.

People wilding with the attitude era/nwo slander.

Ecw is severely overrated & it kind of pisses me off that they get heralded as this innovative brand while wcw stay getting clowned for their flaws.

For every dope wrestler in ecw you had at least 4 who couldn't wrestle for sh!t.

& Look at where a lot of those ecw bums are now. Either druggies, handicapped accessible, or dead.

:yeshrug:If you're under a certain age, you're never going to understand why ECW was a breath of fresh air. Well, not fresh air, exactly. It was stale beer stench air, but that was a welcome departure from the kid gloves wearing, gosh darn it saying, domesticated style of television we were made to suffer through back in the day.

one of the most thought of storylines for mark henry is the fact that mae young gave birth to a hang, guy :martin:

val venis was threatened to have his d-ck cut off before the show went off the air :martin:

Sexual Chocolate theme song and Val Venus on the mic made it worth it though.
