Just imagine if fast food workers got them certs, from cashier to head microwave cook to manager, to head IT man in mcdonalds. All that responsibility in a fast food job :ohlawd:

Know how many pawgs, 6 figure salaries, 6 series bmw's would be outside.:ohlawd:

Besides if you're not making 234231412341324345235452354435345325342525 a year by 30 you lost. :mjpls:

What the fukk does that have to do with anything? Fast food workers are getting barked at CONSTANTLY by customers, so if that's all it takes to deserve some paper, those cats should be getting $100 an hour or something.

Let me clarify... .. When the systems go down and no one can even work, you think shyt is sweet?

Im talking about them basic level help desk ass jobs, where u nikkas literally dont do shyt important.

shyt I know how to fix my computer, I even took my shyt apart and put it bak together when the power jack broke, but I dont know how to work a cash register

Working fast food is harder than being IT help desk :umad:

The average person doesn't, hence the need for IT help desk. I'm starting to think you just might be mildly retarded breh :what:

I work for a satellite company with over 700K clients....guess what happens when something breaks?

If I were to show you the type of network I manage you will be in TOTAL disbelief.

yes, most days nothing breaks but if something goes wrong....it will require high critical thinking skills to get it up.

:what: My nikka you don't manage the network, stop fronting. If you're in an enterprise environment, you're specialized you might work on certain L2/L3 devices, or handle the unity servers, or you're a server guy.

You in here fronting like you're the only person who does networking. I worked for AT&T in their US backbone on OC768 fiber links to critical infrastructure (nasa, white house, major utilities, etc) and peering routers, and I sure as hell wouldn't pretend like I managed their network, just a small part of it.

Break it down for me breh. In the IT thread you claim to be a developer and a voice guy. Now you're managing enterprise networks too :stopitslime:

How is it you have so many responsibilities, yet work for a multinational corporation with 700,000 clients? You mean to tell me it's not broken down into various teams within the networking group, like every other enterprise on the planet?

:childplease: These the niiggas that handle ya food. If they get paid 25/h then maybe they wont be so quick to hire the diick heads that fucck up your order or do grimy shiit to ya food.

I was watchin' the news and they said that one McDonalds found that mice was eating some of the bread so the manager said, cut off the bite marks and still use them. If they get paid 25/h we can hold them to a higher standard.
We Should expect them to do their jobs now. - or figure out something else to do.... there are others that will try harder, and cleaner.

I'm a firm believer in trying ur best regardless of what your doing.... It's not like u deserve 25.hr for barely passing HS and not being as connected and educated as a person who is a .........

Nurse, teacher, data developer, building manager, etc.

First for all we are a satellite company...so our model of business is different from your average network environment.

We manage Satellite gateways....The way these gateways are deployed it has to be configured from a ground up and you have to place them in places where the US government has given you license to operate because of beam/spectrum issues.

Usually per sat gateway it's 4 ASR Cisco routers and a few 4500/4500x switches connecting to the SAT equipments (2 doing strictly NAT/IPv6 ) and 2 Peering doing multi-home BGP with various ISP's(multiple stat terminals connect through this)

The SAT equipment runs mainly unix/linux(that's when my programming skills come in because everything is heavily scripted using bash, php, perl, with a little bit of python ).

We don't only deploy Sat internet for home users/companies we also sell Cisco UCM (that's when my voice skills ) come in.

This year alone we built 15 gateways from the ground up after we got the beam/spectrum license and deployed hundreds of cisco callmanger 7-9 for customers.

Based on what I have typed the company I work for should be obvious to you...since there are only few satellite internet providers in the country.

user-PC--(sat-terminal)-----(sat in the sky!)-----(ground gateway)------(ASR routers)----internet

Basic flow of traffic for a user who buys our terminal for internet.
Anyone with at least a CCNP/CCIE and a wiliness to learn Linux/callmanager should thrive here.

Nah, I agree with you on that, but I never said IT dudes were lazy though, that wasn't my argument. I'm just saying EVERYBODY is getting yelled at when they fukk up unless they're at the very top.

The better thread would have been
" the big shots at the company look at IT the same way the big shots at fast food companies look at Fast food workers"

If there is more profit to be made by getting rid of IT or paying them less as possible... It will happen.

That's why I don't understand any one having a problem with people out here trying to fight for more money.
