Companies should have the freedom to pay whatever rate they want. If a prospective employee doesn't agree with the pay rate then he's free to work for another company. If a company is having a hard time hiring people due to having an unfavorable pay rate and work environment then that company would have to adjust accordingly. I believe this methodology where the problem 'fixes itself due to free market conditions' is superior to the government throwing its weight around over regulating everything.

I agree with the majority of your post but bruh regulation is needed in some industries ie: oil, cable communications, any industry that is monopolized

:heh: cant be serious

I remember when i used to work support at an ISP and NONE of the tools that told you the callers info were working. Lets just say a lot of people got exposed that day.

Working fast food requires no skill, knowledge or education. Its why they get paid the way they do. You get paid based on the value you bring to the marketplace.

And Computer Science is a mostly programming major. Not really in the technical field.

I feel you we're too deep with minimum wage that getting rid of it would start anarchy.

The mainstream media and our supbar education system has done a tremendous job with brainwashing us into thinking that anarchy is a bad thing.

You don't need a government to prevent a monopoly. There are no monopolies in a free market.

"A bit of history is helpful. Originally the term “monopoly” referred to a special government privilege that protected a company from competition, whether through a franchise, a subsidy, or some other legal restriction on entering a field. The old East India Company, for example, had true monopoly power: the British empire would not allow any other British company to trade in the East Indies. (A modern example would be the U.S. Postal Service. If you try to compete in the delivery of first class mail, the government will put a stop to it.)"

you're very :sitdown:demonic friend
When friends complain about the profession of friends and they themselves arent working towards anything you have to be a friend and say hey, hey you there, friend, lets get off our buns and redirect our eyes to books that put us to sleep instead of posting demonic filth about how friends earn an honest living. I really wonder sometimes how many of you guys are stifling your potential with drugs.

NYC (but PGH will forever be home)
IT workers deserve that money for the sole fact that the work is:

1.) boring as hell
2.) limited upside
3.) not very respected by the company

Fast food workers share all of those ill's listed above, but at least they get the pleasure of not being in a professional setting

every man has the power to pave their own path if they really want it..
If you are a fast food worker making minimum wage do something about it to get out of that position, stead of saying the IT man doesnt deserve pay and is lazy/sitting down. Pick up a trade/ take a course in that field and get a position that " doesnt deserve to get paid that $$" instead of complaining about standing on your feet all day and getting paid scraps and saying others dont deserve they pay they get.

If someone doesnt like a job, they have a choice they can leave..
