The knicks have no business even thinking about the warriors, even thinking of a quick fix will get us bounced in the playoffs by celtics/sixers for the next 5 seasons.

We legitimately need a 3 plan going forward.

Year 1, this season- develop knox properly, give hin room to grow and learn from his mistakes. Develop the rest of our young players. Try and move lee and possibly noah. Don’t force KP back, and try and secure a top 3 pick.

Year 2- hopefully by now lee, noah and kanter will be off the books and you can sign Kyrie. Trade any of the 2 frank, tim or protected first round pick for jimmy. You go into the season with kyrie, jimmy, a healthy returning KP, 2nd year of knox and rookie zion, cam or RJ. Make a strong playoff run, possibly get to the ECF but definitely semi.

Year 3- You go into season 3 with better team chemistry, a prime KP, jimmy and Kyrie, 3rd yr of knox and 2nd yr of zion, cam or RJ. You’re definitely making a deep run in the playoffs and possibly playing in the championship. By now warriors should of cooled off by now. The league should be run by the EC with knicks, sixers and celtics

Knicks shouldn't be building to beat the Warriors today... They should be building to beat the Sixers/Celtics in two years
I think we have a good game plan. Knox is taller, longer (pause) and more athletic then Tatum. We will have more length and height (:dame:) then most other teams, and players that can do more then one thing on the court

For the first time ever I believe the Knicks have the right strategy. Well there was one year they had it right with Melo until we had injuries and Kidd got washed and JR disappeared after some sucker shyt he did to the jet

Knicks management is building something that can be sustained for years. A team that can at least be a competitive playoff team year after year

Knicks have been going for players with character lately, I doubt they’ll take jimmy.

Plus so much is already invested in Tim Hardaway Jr.

Kyrie and Kristaps at his prime and Knox even at his floor would be good enough of a scoring trio.... not to mention whoever Knicks draft next year.

No need for Butler.

Trading for Butler would be a quick fix move tho :dwillhuh: :skip:

Trading young, valuable assets for a player that's a former Thibs guy, soon to be on the wrong side of 30, coming off recent injury (which required surgery) where he missed 20 some odd games and looked like a shell of himself when he returned for the playoffs. And lastly, but most importantly, has a shytty deposition with how he treats/handles younger teammates, potential locker room cancer (depending on one's viewpoint he may already be considered a locker room cancer) and definite, for sure, piss poor "leader" (if you wanna call trashing your teammates in the media leadership); nah I aint breaking up the young core and/or dealing [a] future 1st rd pick(s) for that :rudy::scusthov::ufdup:

Aside from that look at our track record when it comes to former Bulls coming to play for the Knicks over the past 20 years; Eddy Curry, J Crawford, Chris Duhon, Jerome Williams, Chandler, Rose, Noah.....not exactly a stellar track record, to say the least :scust:

I'd be a bit hesitant and apprehensive abt signing Jimmy as a FA outright as it is, a lot of red flags there that simply cannot be ignored. Ofc, Id come to accept it if we did sign him as a FA, especially if some of our other FA options are off the table and we sign him to a shorter term deal (2+1, 2 yrs with a 3rd yr option)

But trading for him? As opposed to just waiting till the off season to acquire him w/o sacrificing assets (young players and/or [a] future 1st rd pick(s))....Melo 2.0 all over again....no thanks. Hard pass to acquiring Jimmy via trade

Honestly lets see what happens. We are just as likely to be a 25 team as 35 team because there are a lot of players on the team with room to grow. Then the knicks have to draft.

But if they add Jimmy and Kyrie they need to come into 2020 looking to compete. Those two do not join KP (and leave playoff teams) to do a slow rebuild. So unless the knicks think that team can beat the Warriors I would prefer they fall back

Knicks should be working on their infrastructure and developing a nice young core of talent the way the Sixers and Celtics did. If KP comes back healthy and stays, Mitchell and Knox are promising and Frank turns into a Rajon Rondo type PG, we're well on our way in the next few years.

I was hoping that Frank could become a Jrue Holiday type, a 2-way combo guard that primarily plays PG but can also give you excellent play out of the 2guard spot for 10-15 mins a game. Utilizing Frank in this way allows him to maximize his PT. But, Rondo with a better jump shot, while still maintaining his elite defense, yeah if Frank can become that then we well on our way to becoming a legit threat in the East

The only issue with this plan ( which I like) is that Kyrie may want to see KP in action by the end of the season before committing. But health wise ( and record wise :lolbron:) it might be best to let KP sit out for the year.

But yeah, I agree we need to aim for a long-term plan while pruning unnecessary contracts.

While I like the Fizdale hire I do think he’s been kinda overhyped by the league and nba media in general because Lebron likes him and gave him his stamp of approval

Don’t get me wrong he has positives but he also got fired by Memphis and alienated the star player there yet people act like he’s the second coming of Pat Riley

Like I said I like the hire but people need to slow down

Fair criticism, though I will say, Fiz isn't the first coach Gasol has had issues with, he's a prima donna whose attitude has only gotten worse over the course of his career. Great player, but far from a saint whose hands aren't clean when it comes to the fractured relationship he had with Fizdale, or any other coach he had issues with prior to Fizdale for that matter.
