Wonder if he saw something in Trey Burke during their workout together....

I feel like spending all summer working on a more aggressive mindset only to have his first competitive play require the old mindset he just worked on changing isn't a great idea. That and injury/fatigue risks for a young cat that should see a minutes increase.

How do you see the back court minutes being distributed, PG and SG?

Its my hope that Frank plays the point for 15-20 mins per game and plays off ball at the 2 for abt 10-15 mins a game. So overall, depending on his own effectiveness and efficiency, as well as taking into account fatigue and not wanting to overload a young player, I could see Frank getting 25-30 mins a night, with some nights getting around 35 mins if he's playing really well and another member of our trio of PGs we have is struggling (here's looking at you Mudiay )

There's such a logjam at the Guard positions that I'd probably have to sit down with the full rotation to work out what I can realistically envision. You got Frank, Burke, Mudiay, THJ, Dotson, Lee for now and then Baker. I'm gonna assume Lee is gone and Baker doesn't play because...

PG Frank 22/Burke18 /Mudiay 8
SG THJ 30 /Dotson 12 /Frank 6

Would be a rough baseline for me. I'd like Frank at 28-32 mpg in an ideal situation. Burke needs to get close to 20 mins and can bump other guys when he's running hot. Dotson is the wild card. I'd love for him to be a 10-15 mpg SG but that remains to be seen. His minutes could go to Frank or Baker. Mudiay ought to get opportunities, so I'd start the season with him penciled for close to 10 mpg and let him earn more time. I would expect the rotation to whittle out at least one of these guys (Mudiay or Dotson) and that would balance these minutes more but preseason should inform all of this a lot more.

Honestly feel like if Burke starts off this upcoming season as well as he finished last season it'll be difficult to justify playing him under 25 mins a game, despite his limitations on the defensive end of the court. Even tho I think it'd bode well for the team overall and the development of Frank in particular to have Burke come off the bench, truthfully speaking the starting PG job is Burke's to lose at this juncture :ld:

Lakers did us a solid by going back on their promise to M-Rob and passing up on Money Makin' Mitch with their late 1st rd pick. Now they preparin to do us another solid by taking Jimmy off the market, thus saving us from ourselves :wow::mjcry::whew::wow::obama:

:salute:to Magic

Once again, :blessed::lawd: on the Frank news

Fizzy continues to say all the right things :smugbiden::myman:

I been listening to the Nothing But Knicks podcast a lot lately and one of the topics recently was if we should make a run at Kemba if we don't get Kyrie. I say no. I think Burke with minutes can give us the same production as Kemba for much cheaper. We can address other needs with that bread or not spend it at all. Thoughts?

Also just to switch the topic away from next years draft and FA I been thinking about all the washed players we've had over the years that were superstars before they suited up for us. That list is long! But my all time washed Knicks team is:
PG: Kidd
SG: Penny
SF: T-Mac
PF: Sheed
C: Mutombo

In their prime that team wins a ring got dammit! :takedat: What's yours?

I honestly feel like it's unsustainable. His efficiency was starting to dip toward the end of the season and my guess is he'll still be a very good player but not with the offensive qualities to make up for his defensive limitations. That's purely a projection though and it'd be a boon for us if he kept up the mid-season pace, so I hope I'm wrong.
