Let's be real. I can find pictures of all these older men with young, fine women, but that's not going to be the reality for most people. Dudes hit 40, and unless they are physically fit and look young for their age, or have a ton of money, their options decline, but the expiration date of a man is longer than for a woman due to biological factors. For a woman, life is front-loaded. In her prime, she gets tons of attention, and that declines as she gets older, specifically around her 30s. You can go on and sell these women that Sex and the City Dream that they will find some smooth dude in their mid to late 30s, but the reality of the matter is, the longer they wait, the harder it will be.
Given statistics, a few will find 'their dude', but most won't. If it wasn't a problem, you wouldn't have all these 'where have all the decent men gone' articles and shows... and let's also be real. it was women in the media putting men on blast FIRST with all of these, "Where are the decent black men" segments and how all black men are either gay, in prison, or are not 'on their level'. Why do you think Tyler Perry can make a ton of money making the movies he does or movies like 'something new' are being made where a white dude is stepping in and saving these women?
If you look at the majority of those pics, most of those women are slim and have high paying jobs. Also, there's a few where dudes in their 40s are knocking off 33 year old women. The reality is that the average woman isn't going to walk in flabby and making mediocre money and be able to pull some fly dude, especially if she has kids.
The ABC News/Nightline article"Single, Black, Female" presents this stat: "42 percent of U.S. black women have never been married, double the number of white women who have never tied the knot." True, say Toldson and Marks. But their independent analysis of American Community Surveys data from 2000 to 2009 shows that among black women 35 and older, the percentage that have never been married drops to 25 percent, meaning that a solid majority (75 percent) of black women get married before they turn 35.
"The often-cited figure of 42 percent of black women never marrying includes all black women 18 and older," Toldson says. "Raising this age in an analysis eliminates age groups we don't really expect to be married and gives a more accurate estimate of true marriage rates." Same data, but significantly less scary.
Most of these women would have been engaged around 27-29 and got married at 30-33.
Yep. That's why it's hilarious that the brehette started this thread. All these pics support the very point dudes have been making.
If women want to get married, they better try to get chosen in their 20s.
As a woman, waiting until you're 32, 33, etc. to try to get chosen is a boneheaded move.
Most of these women would have been engaged around 27-29 and got married at 30-33.
First, the women range from 30 all the way to like 41. Quite a few of these ladies waited until 32, 33, 34, 35, and on up.
Second, we were told that if we weren't married by 27 we were sol. We were told that 20-27 was our prime and after that life ended.
Third, since when can a woman dictate to a man when he is going to propose and marry her? That's right, you can't! Many women start and have relationships in their 20s. Some of those relationship lead to marriage and some don't.
Many of these relationships were probably started at the end of her coli designated prime or after.
I doubt it most black men with options don't just jump into marriage.
My sources say the this:

Even if it were true that 42% never marry…that still means that the majority do get married. My sources say that the media creates myths and get people are worried and in a frenzy.
Can you tell me what stats your sources say?

@Jone2three45 Again, these women range from 30 to the 40s and everything in between. What's your excuse for those women. Were they also chose in their 20 and just wait 8-15 years to have the actual wedding?
Also, like you guys have told us many times, a woman over 27 is past her prime. So you telling me that men are still choosing 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33….year old women when they could just replace the old model?
42%... that's close to 50% that NEVER get married. Would you make an investment where you only have 58% chance of success? Use a parachute that only has a 58% chance of opening? Let's change that around. Only 42% of black males are in prison. Would that be considered a decent statistic?
