Go to Harold and Belle’s in Mid City
Haven’t found an equivalent in ATL that comes close.
Not a far drive from LAX either

Its some posers there, probably hanging in the Arts District, but that scene is mostly in Hollywood, West LA, Beverly Hills, etc imo. DTLA is on the come up but its still gritty asf. Its not really the ideal location for influencers, posers, and wannabees. Downtown has some dope bars, lounges, restaurants, museums, etc. DTLA is more realer than Hollywood, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, and the likes if you ask me
You're 100% correct but the problem is is that LA is not a tourist friendly city at all. You go to NY the main things tourist want to see will be in Manhattan. In Chicago is downtown and the Loop. Its gets to be a mess with LA cause one attraction is over here, then the next is way in the f*ck over there, and on and on and on. You got to rent-a-car, and it all becomes a lot of freeway time, stuck in traffic time, only seeing one attraction per day type sh*t. That's why Hollywood, Santa Monica, Beverly Hills gets the most traffic.I hear what you saying.
My position is that if you want to see the real LA, you gotta avoid the tourist traps like DTLA, BH, Hollywood, etc.
Get out to Anaheim, South Bay (Torrance, Palos Verdes, etc), Baldwin Hills, Ladera, Lakewood, Carson, Long Beach, Pedro, etc.
I always see people naming West LA spots, and that perpetuates the same cycle of out of towners thinking LA is only Hollywood, Downtown and Santa Monica/Venice.
LA is huge, but we only ever talk about the North and West of it.![]()
Normandie and ManchesterThe best Louisiana is on central and Rosecrans FACTS
Go people watching at Venice Beachthat's the most bizarre place I've ever seen.

Plus all the nooks & cranny's, hidden gems, the local's favorites, new discoveries pretty much only happens when you live here or you know someone that'll point you in the right direction. That's why I said almost every city, suburb, community has its own sh*t. Its own nightlife, hidden gems, etc. Not to mention we're in our cars alot so we naturally miss a lot of shyt when out and about
Normandie and Manchester
Come down Crenshaw and take a left on Imperial and just drive straight plenty of 5 star restaurants and bars on that route
