He was injured both times. In 2004-05 he had plantar fasciitis for most of the season. Most guys sit out, he gutted it out. Then he finally hurt his ankle and missed a bunch of games. And then he rushed back when he wasn't fully healthy. 2004-05 was Kobe playing hurt.

The other time they became a lottery team was after the achilles injury in 2013 and he was never the same after that.

Only injuries can stop Kobe. Nothing else. When fully healthy he was leading scrubs like Kwame Brown and Smush Parker to the playoffs. And when you have him a decent player like Pau Gasol he was going to 3 straight finals and winning 2 chips.
Excuses and excuses. And Kobe was in the lottery in 2013 as well. The league had to :cape: him to the playoffs.

Not saying ur wrong but. How can u tell harden ha dles the balm 9.5 minutes per game and jyrie 5.2 while watching.....sounds very box scorish to me but hey

:hubie:

On the flip side... i cant believe he finaly plays how we wished he played in cleveland:mjcry:
Players Touches

He's now up to 5.3 minutes per game after yesterday's game. Now obviously, if you can't attach the right context to a player's TOP, it's meaningless.

Boston has multiple players playing at a high level because of B.Stevens offensive system.Kyrie dominating the basketball and putting up greater numbers would be detrimental to his teammates and go against B.Stevens team first approach.
:gucci:

Then why are you using his box score #s in argument against him, if you're aware that if he does dominate the basketball it would be detrimental to the offense and his teammates?
While other mvp candidates are surrounded by garbage/inconsistentcy...Horford,Brown,Tatum,etc...are all playing great basketball..
You mentioned Harden as a candidate, he has a 23-ppg scorer on his team (a greater offensive threat than anyone on the Celtics), he also has the benefit of a constant spread floor because of the 3-pt shooting/lineups that the Rockets have, that gives him more space to work with.

You mentioned Lillard as a candidate, he has a 22-ppg scorer his team (a greater offensive threat than anyone on the Celtics), he also has one of the better big men in Nurkic on his team - offensively equal to Horford.

I can see right through your agenda.
.And even if Kyrie did put up greater numbers, the fact remains that he's only 21st in "per"...I don't think any player has ever won a mvp with a per that low.
:gucci:

Please tell you aren't serious about this nonsense. PER, you're using PER to determine who is MVP?! Lord have mercy.

He's literally averaging 22/3/6 on only 56 TS% yet these nikkas are acting like he's putting up prime MJ numbers. Isaiah Thomas averaged 30 on 60 TS% last year & led a worse Celtics roster to the 1st seed. :dead:

Hate to think about the takes we'll be seeing once he actually starts playing like an MVP. Horford, Brad Stevens & the Celtics defence has a lot more to do with their record than Irving.

Pretending Harden is being carried by his shooters when they're only 21st in 3 PT shooting (large part due to Harden) is extremely hilarious by the way.

Mbah A Moute, PJ Tucker, Ariza & Bobby Brown are apparently elite shooters. :mjlol:

.....
That's the exact reason why he was playing the way he was in Cleveland, because he was forced into that role - the role where he'd either just be another shooter, or where he'd be the one with the ball trying to break down his man on an ISO, while everyone else just stood around. That's what a large amount of his possessions consisted of. It's almost the complete opposite in Boston. Now he's screening for players, directing traffic on offense, getting the ball out of his hands earlier and moving without it, getting players secondary looks, cutting to the rim and/or funneling back out to an open space consistently etc etc.

Who the hell is saying this? He doesn't handle the ball for long enough to put up big surface #s. Take your straw man that way.

.
Irving is putting up similar points per time of possession that IT did last season, while creating more looks for his teammates. And no this Celtics roster is not worse than last season. Stop with the revisionist bullshyt.

This Celtics team is right now the best in the entire league. Last year they were just the 1st seed cause Cleveland didn't care and the East was historically weak.

If Boston ends up with a better record than all the teams out West, that'll be an accomplishment.

Also last year their success was through gimmicks. There was nothing you could point to that suggested they were actually an elite team. This year they are #1 (by far) in defensive efficiency. That is typically the mark of great teams that end up winning championships.

Its stupid to compare this Celtics team to last year's team. This one is far superior and better positioned for long term success in the playoffs given their elite defense.

So its coaching then...

Plus "bron ball" is really a variant of the princeton offense...shooters on the side.. cut to draw defenders and pass to shooters.... have ur sg and pg do back door cut...

Not sure why this site calls it bron ball..its many teams running it
