I bought 2 360s because the games were dope. People were willing to buy another system or send their shyt in to get fixed.

You know who else succeeded because the competition handicapped itself?

The PS4.

You sit here acting as if gamepass was the plan all along. As if the 360 was just a ploy to create gamepass.

No, they created gamepass cause they fukked up with the xbox one. They had to pivot. Just like they're doing now with Xbox Everywhere

To say this was some plan they've had in the works for 20 years is cope at it's finest.

yes it did well, but it wasn't just because of Xbox grabbing up exclusive games. the only reason that part was even possible was because of the ease of development and the head start.


Do you think the 360 would have been a success if it released the same time as PS3, cost similar and was just as hard to develop for? The 1st time that 600 dollar 360 RROD it would have been a WRAP

its not “wild” but it proves that at one point in this generation microsoft was buying these publishers and studios to compete directly with sony.

Or to own IPs for gamepass and stop getting games ganked with exclusive deals from Sony.

Its just hard for them to give credit to sony with what they’ve achieved with playstation over the past 30 years.

all sonys success is luck, magic marketing, Xbox’s missteps, being the first, etc. it’s not about consistently great hardware and award winning games. Even when they make huge missteps they usually find a way to recover and bounce back.

and yes, having great relationships with 3rd party publsihers is part of it also

Its not luck Sony has 2 of the best consoles to date in gaming history, they know their lane and audience better than the audience knows themselves. The playstation marketing team post 2020 was top notch, and tbh they still are.
And having a great relationship with 3rd party = having the biggest foot print with the most for those 3rd parties to lose by not going with you.

Sony and Nintendo are losing cause they are selling consoles.

They should pull a M$ and release games everywhere day and date and remove one of the main reasons their consoles are purchased.

They ended up losing because of the forced Kinect integration, and Sony started releasing better exclusive games.
