I hope MGSV is mainly in the polishing state right now. Otherwise I fear for the integrity of this game.

I caught that too. Kojima is REALLY asking his employees to finish the game as a favor to the fans? :sadcam: So you're telling me the people MAKING this epic game don't really have their hearts in it anymore? :damn:

P.T. May Have Contained a Hint from Hideo Kojima That Konami Would Remove Him From Silent Hills
Could Kojima have known that Silent Hills would be canned before the release of P.T.?

The now-cancelled Silent Hills‘ “playable teaser” P.T. may have contained a message from Hideo Kojima that the project wasn’t destined to hit store shelves.
With it now appearing likely that Kojima will have nothing to do with publisher Konami following the release of the upcoming Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, it is suggestible that the game designer and the publisher’s relationship would have been strained throughout the development of P.T., the survival-horror game demo that upon completion revealed itself to be a teaser for Silent Hills, a new Silent Hill game that was to be developed by Kojima in co-operation with film director Guillermo del Toro. However, an eerie phone message that plays after the demo is completed has taken on new meaning, with some speculating that it may have been a hint from Kojima that all was not well with the development of the game.

The message, which is played just before the short trailer for Silent Hills is shown at the end of the demo, is as follows:
“Dad was such a drag. Every day he’d eat the same kind of food, dress the same, sit in front of the same kind of games… Yeah, he was just that kind of guy. But then one day, he goes and kills us all! He couldn’t even be original about the way he did it. I’m not complaining… I was dying of boredom anyway, But guess what? I will be coming back, and I’m bringing my new toys with me.”
The message stood out in the game as its wording and tone were quite incongruous with the rest of the demo, but no one thought much of it until the announcement was made that Kojima was (perhaps forcibly) leaving the development of Silent Hills in the wake of a dispute with Konami. Now the suggestion has been made that this message is a subtle reference to Konami (the “Dad”) and Kojima’s relationship, with Kojima “dying of boredom” when it came to dealing with the company, containing a prediction that Konami would eventually kill the project.
The final line – “I will be coming back, and I’m bringing my new toys with me” – is said to suggest that Kojima will be returning to the format of P.T., albeit with it not set in the Silent Hill universe, as Konami owns the rights to the franchise.
While this may seem like a stretch, it certainly wouldn’t be out of character for Kojima to break down the fourth wall in such a manner. In fact, this seems exactly like something he would do. Could the MGS creator have already predicted that Konami would pull the plug on Silent Hills before the release of P.T.? We’ll likely never find out, but this is still a neat little theory nonetheless.

:stopitslime:That's one heck of a yoga stretch

Wow so MGS5 might get tossed in the bushes?

:wow:
Depends what you mean exactly. It seems like Kojima has had to beg his team to finish the game...depending how far along they are, this definitely would be bad news for the overall quality of the game. You potentially have people working on a game they no longer have any interest in. It's definitely coming out...but the quality of it is looking a little shaky right now. I hope they're in the final stages and all this nonsense doesn't really impact the experience overall.

They have some other online mobile gaming or gambling division that's making a bunch of money. Console gaming has flat-lined in Japan anyway so it's understandable they'd wanna get out.
