This month he's averaging ... 5.6 assists.
It's not that he isn't passing MORE, it's that players are hitting shots. He was doing this right when Nash went out and players were't finishing plays so he said fukk it and put the scoring load on himself.

Are you being intentionally misleading? The fact that he is averaging 5.6 assists for January is irrelevant since they've lost most of their games this month.
