bruh, some of these cats are old enough to make a real song. i look at these dudes like tee flii, ty dolla, even trey and breezy - cats put out the most shallow, hard on hoes music. alicia keys, mary j b, r kelly, maxwell, d angelo...all of them had songs that ran the gamut of love, relationships, and so much more written under the age of 25, monica, tevin campbell, brandy, all had timeless songs (may have been written about others) in their teenage years. and we can go back to the 50's-80's and see the same pattern. this is truly a loveless generation, they're too concerned about instagram likes and keeping up appearances, i don't know how/when/why black love got bodied like it has, but it doesn't exist in music nor tv
Truth! I mean, R&B used to give the same message as the popular shyt out now, but it wasn't as blatant and tasteless... if Minnie Riperton came out today with "Inside My Love", it'd be called "Come Get This p*ssy"... it's just dirty, and even tho' I don't hate all the songs like that, to me it automatically makes them more disposable and for-the-moment. You know shyt's gone crazy when Rick James' shyt seems tame compared to these dudes. He didn't have to say "girl don't hide that p*ssy"... but you still got the message.
