I've already broken this down numerous times. KG is what I would consider the ultimate sidekick. Felt that way when he was on the timberwolves and was proven to be the case in Boston.

Better overall skill set when compared to dirk when you look at everything a player can do on the court. Dirk however was a completely dominant offensive weapon that was better suited to be a #1 for any franchise.

That's the difference, you build around Dirk. You simply don't build around KG because when you absolutely need a huge offensive spark KG just didn't have that takeover ability on a consistent basis in his career.

I won't even bother trying to compare Duncan vs KG. It really isn't close.

Prime for Prime, Duncan's scoring in the playoffs was far and away better than KGs, that isn't even up for debate. You put KG on the 02-03 title Spurs and they don't win the chip, Duncan gave them 25/15/5/3 on 53% for the entire playoff run and absolutely destroyed the Lakers on the way to winning the chip.

Duncan's scoring went up in the playoffs, KGs went down, Duncan got more efficient in the playoffs, KG got less efficient :hubie:

GOAT PF.
Ironically this thread actually strengthens our KG as the ultimate sidekick theory.

OF COURSE KG will fit well on the olympics. He did not have the pressure of carrying the load offensively.

Being non-existent on defense doesnt make someone better either.

Charles Barkley throughout career had Moses Malone, dr. J, Maurice Cheeks, KJ, Hakeem Olajuwon, Clyde Drexler, and Scottie Pippen as teammates and so I do not want to hear it.

Barkley didn't play with a prime dr.j and once Barkley came into his own Moses malone was with the wizards out of all of the players you named he only had one at their best and that was KJ let's not rewrite history....I'm not saying Barkley is better Id personally take kg, but kg winning a chip isn't what put him over Barkley

The Spurs have Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge. LaMarcus Aldridge lead his team to a 54 win season before when he was in Portland and kawhi finished second in the MVP race last year.

You guys cannot be this slow:snoop: the Spurs found another Cornerstone player before Duncan got too old

They just like to play dumb thecoli got he worst hoops fans

Kg was by far the best player on that championship celtics team kg wasn't no damn sidekick in order to build around dirk you needed a playmaker, interior defender, wing defender, and a rebounder , kg is all of those things and still has the ability to give you 20-25 a night that's a true superstar and number 1 option....dirk is nice but he not better than the BIG TICKET

Paul Pierce was the #1 on that squad.

So by your standards Cedric maxwell was better than bird and iggy was better than steph:stopitslime:

Kg was hands down the best player on that squad and they don't come close to a title without him if you say otherwise you don't know hoops

Actually they probably lose game 7 against Cleveland without that 41 point performance by Paul Pierce.
