No, he doesn't he played with a mixture of these individuals throughout his career. I already told you he wasn't even the leader in defensive box plus minus for the first four years of his career and D-Rob was an elite defensive big man until his retirement. KG never had the privilege of playing next to these type of individuals period, as soon as he got some strong defensive coaches (Doc & Thibs) and played next to some better defensive players he happened to win DPoY and anchored some of the G.O.A.T. defenses. TD would not have top defenses if he was playing in Minnesota, period. Citing defensive rating is pointless because that stat is heavily dependent on team, and TD undeniably played on better defensive teams from the get-go.

KG wasn't a PF to start his career, he played SF his first two seasons. After switching to the PF he played it for 14 seasons, TD actually spent more seasons in his career as a 5 and even when he was labeled a 4 he was playing up to 44% of his minutes at the 5. :heh:

And for the final time I ask, what did these individuals do without him to demonstrate that it was them and not him that was the key to that defense over all those years? I am not gonna play the "jump around till I find something to stand on" game with you. I addressed your points and made points of my own. Either you got a response or you don't.

:gucci: They were good defenders everywhere they went tf? :snoop:

Kawhi won two DPoY awards, may possibly become the great defensive wing in NBA history at the pace he is on...

David Robinson won DPoY and made 8 All-NBA Defensive Teams in his career, again led the Spurs in defensive box plus minus for the first 4 years of Duncan's career and was an elite defender up to his retirement, one of the best defenders ever pre-Duncan and elite with Duncan...

Danny Green made All-NBA Defensive Second Team after Duncan retired...

Bruce Bowen made 8 All-NBA Defensive Teams, one of the best on-ball defenders of his era, and one of the dirtiest defenders ever word to Vince Carter, had already became a defensive role player on elite defensive Miami teams before Duncan...

Robert Horry was All-Defensive team player in college and set a school record in blocked shots, in the NBA he is known for being "Big Shot Rob" but he was also an elite defender (career 1.5 steals, 1.5 blocks per game per 36 minutes, peak 4.0 defensive box plus minus, peak 4.3 defensive win shares)...

Stephen Jackson was always a tough hard-nosed defender and he played on great defensive Indiana teams later on...

Ginobili has always been an underrated, feisty defender and he ranks top 10 in playoff steals...

I'm not saying TD wasn't the key, I'm telling you he as the defensive anchor was surrounded by other strong defenders and a strong defensive scheme instituted by Pop.

If Tim Duncan played for Minnesota he would not have perennial top 3 defenses every year, he wasn't carrying quite the load KG was, be real. :comeon:

The Spurs have Kawhi Leonard and LaMarcus Aldridge. LaMarcus Aldridge lead his team to a 54 win season before when he was in Portland and kawhi finished second in the MVP race last year.

You guys cannot be this slow:snoop: the Spurs found another Cornerstone player before Duncan got too old

Aldridge stinks

KG was the best player on that Celtics team, won DPoY, and was a top 3 MVP candidate that year. :heh:

Also, check who led the Celtics in scoring in the playoffs.

About as far as you can carry them, to heights never seen by his franchise before or after him to this point, to numerous 50 win seasons, and a conference finals appearance :umad:

So we just gonna ignore the fact Duncan played with strong defenders his entire career huh?

We just gonna act like Duncan would still lead weak Wolves teams to top defense status huh?

You said yourself he was the key and the anchor. Do you know what those words mean?

Duncan was a better, more impactful defender out the gate, while KG grew into that. So yeah Wolves would have been better on D early on with Duncan. And he would have given them better offense when it mattered. Duncan's teams weren't as good as you want to make it seem and KGs were as bad as you want to make it seem.
