My point is your shyt is trash so you have no room to give any kind of criticism. Wtf point are you even trying to make? What is woke Twitter in regards to this?
Seems you just wanted to attack me to defend Kendrick.

Do better.

People have opinions. You don’t need to defend Kendrick.

What i mean by “woke twitter” is it’s fake “deep”. Same like the nikkas on twitter that wanna tell you to “wake up” and drink Alkaline water.

There’s clearly an attempt at enlightenment, but it’s coming from a very shallow place, from a guy who’s still learning himself and doesn’t really have anything unique to add to the conversation. Just repeating things he’s heard elsewhere. All on top of weird ass annoying “artsy” production and arrangement.

Type of shyt i would a been drooling over as a teen/young adult. But now it’s just annoying like them young nikkas on twitter that think they are more enlightened than everyone else cause they read some DR. Sebi teachings. And cooked some Alkaline cookies for their girl:mjlol:

Ultimately it’s a very shallow, tertiary commentary on the issues we all know too well. And the songs ain’t even fun to bop to:smh:

I can’t fathom how there’s reviews being completed already for this album when it hasn’t been out for a full day yet. I know it’s gonna take repeated listens for me to dissect it all. It’s a very dense album. I love experimental type of music so this is up my alley..I think he does a good job of making it accessible as possible without straddling into Lupe territory (and that’s not a knock on Lupe at all).

I’m gonna wait for atleast another week before dropping a review but so far I like what I’m hearing.

One of the reviews I read actually spoke on that and I respected it.
They gave an overall impression (which was positive) but made sure to say that the review itself couldn’t possibly measure up to an album that needs to be listened several times to fully grasp it

"album needs to be listened multiple times before I can decide with my ears that I liked the production and that I could comprehend the tone, lyrics, and subject matter of Kendrick's vocals"

foh we know what kinda album this is on first listen. Either you fukk wit this typa mood or you don't. Don't gotta force yourself to like it by trying to find things to grasp onto from repetitive listening.

This is a nice album, but I would be lying if I didn't want more bangers from him. Still, really enjoyed United in Grief, Father Time, Mother I Sober, and Mirror.

That's nonsense

You can't even fully digest and comprehend the lyrics after one listen. Hell, half the time I don't even know what the fukk this nikka even said in a song in just one listen

Which tracks did you have trouble grasping the message of? I mean if you just cruised through this on your way to work sure because you aren't paying much attention...

I aint gon hold ya. I after listening to Mother I Sober twice to catch stuff, I probably won't ever return to this album. Lyrically the last few songs on disc 2 made my ears perk up but that was about it. Nothin hit me like the Institutionalized beat switch or King Kunta on TPAB. Preferred the production on past introspective tracks over the ones on this album ie Sing About Me. Not trash by any means, just not for me.

Heard it throughout the day in the car. There's entire verses that I feel like I didn't hear due to all the different pitch shifts and fast rapping and all that. Haven't heard this in headphones yet.

It's completely reasonable for someone to say I'll sit on the album for a month and see how I feel about it.
