What changed your mind about it?
Being able to actually sit down and listen to it. I feel like the overall vibe of the album wasn't what I wanted to hear back in 2022 especially coming off the pandemic. I heard the name "Mr. Morale and the Big Steppers" and thought we were going to get something like what GNX turned out to be. Couple that with Young Thug and Gunna getting locked up (that was the wave I was on mid 2022 with Gunna dropping earlier that year) and I was just overall disappointed at the time.

Basically I wanted some party/turn up shyt, and this was not that. This album may have hit harder for me on release day if it dropped in 2020 instead of 2022.

yeah the month this dropped i was in some shyt:mjcry:

this wasnt what i was tryna hear at all. especially the state of mind i was in:demonic:
i tried a few times thruout the past 2 years to get into it and nothing.
aside from a couple tracks.
fast forward to the start of the beef. And i went back to it and its just an amazing project
But just that this time.
different ways of thinking. overall just different mentality and ways of living and handling emotions/people/feelings

listening to this album takes me back to that month of the release and:damn:
Its a tough album to listen to
Parts of this album connect with me on a real real deep and personal level.

its little shyt like “i grieve different” or “you never felt guilt til you felt it sober” that just :wow:

and then you got verses like the 2nd verse on die hard that arent super lyrical or technical but just straight to the point and if you are a passionate person. It’ll hit like some fukkin bricks

I'm listening to Father Time at work on YouTube.

One of the top comments was "Why do people say this album is weak?"

The top response was "Cause their minds are weak" and "Because they don't want to face themselves."

No judgement for anyone who didn't love this album, or even those who hated it, but I think it coming out at a time for me as a black man when I was really "facing myself" in an attempt to grow is why it landed on my eardrums as beautiful as it did.

I stand by it being a masterpiece. It's not there lyrically for me like some of his other works, but in terms of the music and the importance, I vibe with it more than GNX, and it certainly means a lot more to me. Speaks more to who I am as a man. TPAB will always be his best work for me, but MM is the 2nd most important.
