Kendrick always takes risks, yet always gets the critical acclaim he deserves.
Take note other artists, this is what a special artist does. make great music and you'll get the rewards you deserve.
Sadly not everyone got kendrick's talent. He's one of the greatest artists AND musicians.

This is how I know none of you simple muthafukkas behind this screen name are black men
Whether some of you nikkas like it or not
Or too scared to talk about black male trauma in families
Or were the lucky ones that never had to endure shyt like this
This was an important piece for the times we are living in
Everything ain’t about entertainment, making you feel good or vibe to
This album should be highlighted on getting tough conversations going about what’s going on with black men
Black men’s mental status
Black men/women relationships
It’s always funny to me how this board is supposed to be so problack
Especially this tired ass screen name that has said the most egregious shyt time and time again about black men
Loves posting threads on black pathology in the TLR
Casting aspersions and down talking black men as whole
And it’s goofy nikkas co-signing this shyt
Ain’t no way boy, ain’t no fukkin way y’all proud black men
Nor are you trying to see PERSPECTIVE(message)
It’s easy to talk about crash test dummies
What you would do
Blah, Blah, Blah
But a black man finally gives you an important piece of work to marinate on
Take away from and to finally start dealing with your demons/demons as a whole that black men face 24/7
And this the shyt that’s profound to you
You wonder why Andre 3k doesn’t make music anymore
Why Lute, Caleborate, Earthgang, Domo Genesis and so many more aren’t as big
Because nikkas don’t want shyt like this
I’ll even throw Isiah Rashad in there
It takes a lot to be vulnerable and live in your truth as a black man
We still trying to hold on to that stereotype of I don’t need nobody
That couldn’t have happened to you because I didn’t experience that
But want to run your goofy asses into a thread screaming RIP
When a nikka dies from self induced illnesses because he didn’t work on his trauma
Trying to keep the image of being strong
Ain’t no black man walking this earth that hard 24/7
You a gotdamn lie if you say you are
I thank KDot for this
It’s making friends and brothers text me and vice versa
But this thecoli so I don’t expect much out of most you nikkas anyway
He’s not a savior but he is one of our most important rappers of right now

This some real shyt. This post alone made me want to run this back. I can see the vision.

One thing if you notice in the credits he’s beginning to take production credits as well. He’s credited under his moniker Oklama on four songs on the album.

I remember in an earlier interview years ago that he said he’s more involved in the production process of his songs than people realize and he should get production credits, so I wonder if this is a bigger step towards him self producing his own project one day

Its more of a "rap" album. Way more digestible and easier to listen to

i remember after my first listen of TPAB I was like :dwillhuh:. Not thinking it was super dope or super wack, just kinda like damn that shyt was weird and different. Then I kept listening and it became the best album of the 2010s for me and I still don’t think it’s been topped. But yeah now that you say that and it brought back that memory, I can see why.

Napoleon goofy ass doing the most in this damn thread lmao.

Anyway, I can't make a complete assessment of the album...certain stuff I was feeling a lot, some I'm ehh on. But Kendrick is spitting on here. Kept the weird shyt to a minimum. Odd comparison but this is like Kendricks Eminem Show, where he's just talking about Kendrick Duckworth the man and what's going on in his life. Like an hour long therapy session.

And We Cry Together? I mean cmon, WOW. That shyt is art breh
Putting that dummy on ignore was the best decision i ever made. now threads aren't getting spammed with his stupid ass

I can’t understand how anyone thinks GKMC is better than TPAB. They aren’t even in the same league to me.
Everyone considers TPAB as the much better album...gkmc is great though

but it's a rap forum, and gkmc is an easier album to listen to for simpletons that don't have a musical background or that only listen to rap. With that being said, even on hip hop forums tpab is usually widely regarded as the better body of work.

Nah...objectively this is incorrect...it's just your personal preference

if we're talking about quality, objectivity, then TPAB (and now this new album) is his best album by a long shot, his undisputed classic.

GKMC is very flawed musically but is a great traditional rap album for casual consumers that don't know music that much. It's still his worst album. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying its bad, it's a fantastic project, but all his other albums are simply better from an objective angle.
How is GKMC flawed musically?

just because it’s not as dynamic as TPAB doesn’t mean it’s flawed. It’s more stripped down and no frills hip-hop, but there’s nothing inherently flawed about that. A Flaw implies a problem.

This is coming from someone that likes all his albums BTW. I just dislike the premise that just because his albums after Section 80 and GKMC have more going on automatically means those earlier projects are lesser

But yeah, this new kendrick album is probably gonna get up there with TPAB which is his greatest work.
