I never really liked American Gangster...only one or two tracks that I liked on there but that's about it. I don't think it's a classic...

I don't really see what's so classic about it, lyrically Jay was okay I guess, and the production was decent. The only really, really nice thing about it is that it was a conceptual album, and for the most part it was cohesive, so that's good.

But I don't see it as one of the stronger albums in the Camel's catalog :yeshrug:

Most Jay fans have AG as Jay's 4th best solo album, and that album has no skippables besides Hello brooklyn.

the production was excellent, the cohesiveness of the album was topnotch
The storytelling and lyricism on the album as a whole was great, and imo unlike Kdot's debut album, AG has heavy replayability, because theres more energy in those tracks.

But meh u like what u like. AG is a classic idgaf wat ya think ya bish(ya bish):youngsabo:

Finished the 8th listen through this morning. This shyt really has a movie-feel to it. Like, you can tell this nikka Kendrick is a different and better person at the end of it all. The use of the voicemails from his folks to remind him of family throughout all the crazy shyt he's doing in the streets :to:
