This album is really solid . I went old school and gave it a fresh listen upon purchase . No download. No thread perusing . No review reading . No nothing.

I still have to give it a few more spins. But on the first couple of listens I really like the way it flows . I like the way songs toward the end become longer and more grandiose then flow into Compton .

His voice is unique . And surprisingly I think the use of filters and pitch manipulation on the vocals is actually quite effective , given that's something I don't usually favor .

Love the way MC Eiht comes in as the beat gets that mid 90s vibe.

There's a lot to listen to here . A lot to sink your teeth into.
the vocal manipulation takes me back to prince's sign o the times album. i love being reminded there are no rules in music...just go

Okay fck my last post here giving this album a 5/5

This album is good but in all honesty, I cant see my self bumpin this album after a few months.

Alot of the songs seem like skips in the making. And its not because of the production, the production is excellent(Fck shyne). Its something about Kdot's flow. And he lacks what Pac had. As much as I hate Pac and his garbage flow and lyrics, Pac had a voice of emphasis. There comes a time when you take in the messages of a song/album and then you arent rlly bumpin a track for the message but for the surface things like the flow, the hook, the beat etc. That time where the message of a track becomes numb to you.

And heres my point, Kdot says alot of deep sht in his verses, but he doesnt emphasize the highlights of his verses through either a beat switch or a quick change in voice dynamic.

He's very monotone in places where he shouldnt. And like I said I rlly like this album, but I dont see myself bumpin this for years to come.

Foolish of me to give this 5/5. I still bump AG to this day, and I cant say the same bout this album

Soo I'll switch my score to a 4/5 :yeshrug:

I guess kdot wont be the one to deliver me from my Jay Z stannery:sadbron:

Can someone explain to me how 'bytch, don't kill my vibe' fits within the whole concept? Seems oddly placed between 'Sherane' and 'Backseat freestyle'.

I'm moreso speaking about casual fans of this nikka.

If you're a Stan you'll be listening to real and Compton over and over forcing yourselves to like it. Essentially what Nas fans did with LIG.
