some people need to listen to the song GOOD KID more closely.... especially the 1st verse.

:mindblown:

he says it SOOO CLEARLY on there....nikkas are really THAT simple minded even when someone EXPLAINS it to you...

Now i know why R. Kelly did a commentary on the Trapped In The Closet videos because some of you nikkas are REALLY..THAT dumb..

Listening to a song is too much work.

Folks be sweating through the first 8 bars :whew:

I dunno what's the big deal is about this dude. I mean the album has good beats and sounds crisp but I just can't get into this dude. His voice is generic and boring and he's really not that lyrical.

Bomani have a valid point though.i dont listen to this album to follow the story,i listen to be entertained by the songs.im more into the album because of the sonic quality of it more than the music it self.a lot of yall sayin listen to section 80 but to me that album is dead fukking flat as far as quality goes so i cant even get past the 4th song on section 80 without being annoyed by his voice.i been bumpin this kendrick album for abou three days and im already gettin tired of it.the only reason it pulls me back is because the sound quality.

i think this will be a underground classic in due time but this is not that type classic album people are hyping it up to be.this might end up a "paid n full" type of classic not a "doggystyle" classic.kendrick can rap his ass off but like the guy said im not listening to study im listening to enjoy the music and the replay factor is pretty low already.its a damn good hiphop album but this his more for a true underground rap fan than a mainstream fan that just want to have fun and not care so much about lyrics.

:beli: when u are projected to make between 220-240K in 1st week sales, with universal critical praise by just about every mainstream and underground mag, online, street report review.... beloved by just about everyone from backpackers to those just being introduced to kendrick... to PRESUME anything "underground" is a n*gga please moment at best!!

also, WTF is a "paid n full" type classic/ not a "doggystyle" classic? did u know that "paid n full" is one of the BIGGEST albums in '87... platinum plus

It wasn't supposed to be deep. Just a young Kendrick riding around with his homies spitting senseless bars

and yet it's still a wack ass song... that 3rd verse is horrid

the fact that dude intentionally put a wack song on his album to illustrate the 17 year old version of him spittin some subpar impromptu shyt in his friend's backseat, and yet people on here claiming it's dope as fukk shows the level of stannery going on in this thread

How did these cats get so popular as reviewers? The suck at reviewing music. Even with the laymens schtick they're going for they still suck. Not really funny characters, not descriptive, don't even be remembering track names. What's their value or draw?

Couple of them cats seem a touch fruity also.

Do people still bump "paid n full" like they do "Doggstyle"? i said paid n full is a CLASSIC so i dont know why you acting like i called it wack or something.you can still hear songs from doggystle being played in clubs.when was the last time you even played paid n full? lol thats what i mean.there are underground classics Illmatic,Paid n full and theres mainstream classics Ready to Die,Doggystyle.yes paid n full is a mainstream album but the cult following is now underground wile albums like doggystyle are still being played like it just dropped last year.

Really, shyt is really dry out there then I guess breh.

This is just a bunch of nikkas shooting the shyt telling you if they like the album or not without any sort or technical ability to describe what's going on in the music. Now if they were hilarious characters giving these laymen nikka reviews, I could see the value in it. No way do I come away more informed about an album except knowing if they liked it or not.

Yall shyt on the needle cac:heh::russ: But dude can at least break down the content of the album in detail, while being very descriptive of all aspects of the music. I don't care if he disagrees with my taste in music, I still come away with a good idea of what the album will sound like. There is value in that for me.

hat's exactly why i like it so much, it's just regular dudes who love Hip Hop just like i do. a lot of the time they have differing opinions on an album, Feefo is all about the beats, C-Town is the underground cat, etc.

i prefer them over the Needle guy because even though he pretends to talk about the sonic landscape & bullshyt aspects of the music, he doesn't seem to actually know much about it, at least when it comes to Hip Hop. dude didn't even know who one of the Goodie Mob was (think it was Khujo on the latest DOOM album). he wears a Wu shirt everytime he reviews a Hip Hop album to make himself look like he knows his shyt. at least with DEHH i'm getting thoughts from actual Hip Hop heads.

These nikkas didn't even really know who Curren$y was and shyt on his album and said he really rap at all. But I don't really care about that. These nikkas don't even be remembering which songs are which. Can't always tell you why they don't like something other than, "nikka is wack". I see you are a fan of the actual people, but the reviews themselves suck.

They didn't really know ASAP Rocky before they reviewed his album. In general they are not knowlegable of music or artists they are not already fans of. It's cool if you enjoy their personalities for entertainment purposes, but they suck at reviewing music.
