Depending where you live out here it is a necessity. You also got to understand that its kinda passed down to these kids by their parents and brothers. You can go back a few generations where guys fathers and uncles were in the gang and they just sorta came up in it. Not because they 'need' to but because that is all they know.

Why is it cool to call random people bytches? Why is mispronouncing and overusing profanities commendable? It is their own free will, but it is one of their only choices. They don't have any other social or economic opportunities. They are starving, fighting over scraps. Obviously Kendrick and his hommies didn't fit into this mold yet they still turned to gang bangin.


I'm from Cleveland and the dudes out killing and robbing, didn't come from wholesome families. They didn't have working parents, they were born into the trap, they didn't go to school, they didn't have mommas vans to ride around in.


Your correct people do make their own choices which is why I can't respect a person that CHOOSES to gangbang when he had other opportunities available. You think all the west coast gangsters these dudes emulate came from happy two parent homes?

Mad smart nikkas with other opportunities chose to be on the set for the right to cake as an upper level dealer in the hood. The love of money & greed, even though they wasn't poor to begin with drove them towards that lifestyle.

IMO, why you join means nothing. It's not up to us outsiders to determine who's real or not, that's up to the gang they're reppin. You can't just walk on to the set and be like "Ok guys, I've had perfect attendance for the last 3 meetings. Do I get my stripes now?"

The gang is just a means to an end. Gangs were formed because people needed to do crime in order to survive, and they figured they needed to get with a crew to increase their chance of success. Therefore if you have no NEED to do crime in order to survive, you have no NEED for a gang. So if you still decide to join the gang your just emulating those that really needed to.

I don't come to LA until Xmas, but I hope to hear Kendrick getting play on local radio. fukk is up with these stations tho? When I'm out there it might as well be whatever playlist is playing around the country.

I grew up on Westside Connection and Quik doing all the drops for Theo's afternoon drive on 92.3. Baker Boyz, Big Boy's neighborhood while he was still obese, etc.

But i'm tho.

My local folks, is it getting play on the airwaves? DJ Skee gives it much love in his mixes on Sirius, so it at least has some national exposure.
