Even if you don't personally agree, I don't see how you can't understand the majority feeling like this is a classic.

Great concept executed to near perfection.
Great lyrics, beats, & mixing.
Very addictive album, been listening to it nonstop since it leaked.
Type of album that gets better with each listen.

It's def a classic, but even if I didn't personally love the album like that, I could clearly see why everybody else would call it a classic.

Kendrick not even really fully my cup of tea, but as a project, this album is very rare. What is missing in your opinion?

For a concept album, yes, I can see why it's called a classic album. As an entire album in whole, I can't see it. Too much talking about his life. Some of those tracks I toss out since I can't relate AKA no replay value. Money Trees meh. Backseat Freestyle, although catchy it's nothing special. M.A.A.D. City, I only liked the second half and that was cause the beat.

Only track I haven't heard is "Sing About Me..." and I'm on that now. Including that track I only kept 8 tracks, and Backseat is one of them too.

Anytime a dude from another region can break ATL's radio barrier, I know for a fact he has a major hit on his hands. Swimming Pools (Drank) get played on ATL radio and in the clubs, therefore I figured Kendrick would do some pretty good numbers. Godd job.

Initially I didn't have much interest in this album. I wasn't really big on Section 80. However, I bought into the hype and goddamn this album is crazy. My favorite album of 2012 so far. I really wasn't expecting it to be this good. My god this shyt right here man...

Wait you haven't even ran it through in it's entirety once and you're trying to have a full impression on it? This is one of those albums that definitely get better with each listen. If you can't relate or get caught up in the story, then I don't know what to tell you. It's real nikka shyt, you can't touch everybody I guess.

If an album is getting rave reviews, I always try to spin it through 3-4 times before I have a fully formed opinion to make sure I'm not the one that's tripping. I know I aint gonna like everything these other nikkas feel sometimes, but I like to see what others are finding dope about a project.

I did hear it in full besides the last 2 tracks which I just did. "Sing" was good and "Compton" was what you'd expect. I'm sure I'ma keep these 8 tracks in rotation. Technically 7 1/2 since I only liked 1/2 of MAAD City. I might toss out Backseat, tho.

And I heard the tracks more than once before I deleted them.

Can I ask you lot why do you like this album so much? :why:

Making blasphemous comments like its better than Documentary?

I cant get into this album at all!

No hate. I just cant.

Im not telling anyone that their opinion is wack. Im just giving my own opinion.

I hope someone enlightens me on why they think this album is so great :whew:

Me either. Felt the same way about Section 80 and people gassed that up to no ends. I like some of his songs, but the hype surrounding Kendrick is ridiculous and causes people to say absolutely ludicrous things.

Album leaves nas last album in the dust but nas' last album was still good. Its hard for new yorkers to concede but K dot blows nas out of the water in all categories right now. Nas has let his rhyme schemes plummet, his flow is diminished a bit and his lines arent as clever. You can tell nas doesnt practice as much as he used to when he was Kendricks age and this is why Kendrick, right now is a superior lyricist.

Like this. :snoop:

Did everyone forget about Big K.R.I.T.? No way this kid's album is better than K.R.I.T.'s debut and he's not touching him as an artist.

The production on this was terrific though. Would love to hear a better artist over these beats.
