I have heard the album and I like it. But I hear no "amazing" "hiphop savior" "better than nas" "goat verse" lyrics. Dude is all flow with some pretty basic lyrics, and he's usually just rambling on and not saying much of anything.

:pachaha:

You need to take your ass to rapgenius.com or something :mjpls:

 You heard hiphop savior from the lines nas recited on Life Is Good? I beg to differ like a cutting someone off with a rebuttal.

listen to S80 its much more lyrical then this album to me this is a big step down lyrically. but on the other hand we got Sing About Me, I’m Dying of Thirst which is one of the best tracks of the year. one thing that makes section 80 better is the fact that we didn't get that firey Rigormortis hi-power esque kendrick kinda disappointing tbh

Nope i heard one of the greatest that ever touched a mic.

Sometimes I sit on the bench just to watch the game
Feet on cement, there ain’t a mobster living I could name
Who made it out rich, in his absence I do not proclaim
To not have a heart like wild animals not tamed
Maybe just a typical thug nikka was my rank
‘Cept I had a vision above nikkas, what I think
It’s crazy how many brothers come where I come from
Some made it out big, some dead, some unsung
Shots for soldiers on 23 hours lock-up
Younger generation, they want to mimic and mock us
Laughing, separating themselves like they not us, like
“Cops’ll look at you like they look at me? That’s preposterous”
Ain’t it gangsta how your man made it? I’m humble
One gun, one crazy ass nikka, that’s Jungle
Now we having babies, cause growing up it was just us
No uncles or cousins to fight with us, we was fukked up
But still it was beautiful, the love is mutual
Even though me and Jung ain’t show up to your funeral
I hold your son hand, tell him he the man, we love you
Your pops was king, you have a whole lot to live up to
The G is in your genes, already you tuck
Inherit your dad’s swag, it’s George Jefferson’s strut
Stay flyest, they gon’ want to know what in your diet
Don’t be surprised if they want to check your shyt and your vomit
Tell them you let it marinate, they swear you made them a promise
No matter what they do, you just stay a man of honor
I’m a street corner nikka, New York Knicks loyalist
Corona sipper, pass it out, might blow it with you
It ain’t the Truman show; it’s the human show
Ask the F.B.I. agent at his cubicle
Chews on his pencil eraser with intents to erase you
Young brother go and get your paper, I got love

We are entering the Post-Kendrick phase of Hip-Hop. It will never be the same
:dj2:

Nah, breh...is it the best album of 2012 perhaps...but we not gon look at this like iLLmatic breh. You nikkas seem to not even know what the fukk "lyrical" is its not just throwing the words together in a difficult cadence. Its simile, metaphor, double entendres, stuff like that...its really NOT Kendrick's forte. His bandmate Ab-Soul is the MUCH more lyrical MC even if his story telling and flow is nothing compared to Kendricks. Most of the shyt he says you get it the VERY first time you hear it...but WHAT and HOW he says it that makes it amazing. Like how he'll have a verse rappin as someone who was killed and gunshots prematurely end the verse, that's Amazing and creative as hell.

The album is really good...start to finish sonically its just a pleasure and throwing his friends and parents all over it makes it that much more personal and awesome....i mean personally i HATE Poetic Justice even though the beat is :ahh:. Just feels like the weakest track to me. There's a few tracks that are skippers...i don't to much care for Money Trees, or Compton which feels like a FORCED city anthem in an album that is truthfully ALL ABOUT the city.

All in all though its prolly the best body of music in 2012 so far. Is it iLLmatic nah...is it one of the best albums ever like how some of you clowns are praising it to be prolly not, only time can tell that....will i listen to this album in 2020? or even 2018?

It is however one of the best album hands down from any NEW artist in the 2010's or i'll even say the 2000's period...the Documentary included.

:mindblown: I'm stupid because I'm able to intelligently articulate my position, while all you can do is dikkride your favorite artist, post smileys and call names (are you 12 years old)

And you are correct any reasonable hiphop fan can see his levels, which are slightly above average, better than 90% of popular artists, but in no way are they "amazing" or should he be compared to the greats, at least not yet.
