I think some of y’all are missing the point

This wasn’t about the hits

This was a continuation of the battle

The battle—you can’t tell the story of rap without reviewing the classic back and forths from some of our best artists

This muthafukka Drake thought litigation would stop Kendrick

He actually sued over a fukking rap record

At that point, it became bigger than rap music; last night was about standing up for and protecting the culture

I thought Kendrick could’ve gone a number of directions including not playing Not Like Us

As I was watching, though, I realized this was the only way

I know there were some audio issues but this was defiance personified in the body of a 5 foot 5 rapper from Compton

Instant classic rap performance

One of the greatest moments as far as the battle shyt goes—first the Grammy’s then the Super Bowl

Somebody check on Drake and his stans, tell them breathe bro
This is it.. thanks for sharing this.

In a world where ppl respond with tweets, instagram posts, and press releases, ppl forget Kendrick hasn't responded yet to an ACTUAL LAW SUIT on his diss song.. it's a huge deal for the culture.

His response thus was artistic fukk you to him... he is standing on business. It can stretch beyond that as there were many messages beyond Drake here.. but it was an act of defiance and attack than a celebration. It was an artistic expression.

BUT i totally get some people won't like this and it isn't as fun or easy on the eyes to many. I get that.

But he created a hip hop/cultural moment than a superbowl moment, which was his intention.

This doesn’t matter when no one cares for the music other than 1 verse on one song that he had to tease to stop us from changing the channel

You need anthems, iconic features, quotables when your performing for an audience outside of your base and Drake haters
