I understand what you mean.

Kendrick is Christopher Nolan. You're looking for Quentin Tarantino.

The flows he uses, the metaphors he uses his ability to encapsulate a theme into a rhyme combined with his rhyme structure/patterns are his biggest strengths.
Lmao Kendrick has never created a landmark flow EVER.! what flow does he have that the whole country was singing word for word Ala NOTORIOUS THUGS, started from the bottom, MASE ON 112 only you? He has zero

Punchlines :mjlol:

As if I listen for punchlines :mjlol:

I listen to kendrick for poetry with a great flow :blessed:

The poem at the end of Mortal Man :mjcry:

"The caterpillar is a prisoner to the streets that conceived it
Its only job is to eat or consume everything around it, in order to protect itself from this mad city
While consuming its environment the caterpillar begins to notice ways to survive
One thing it noticed is how much the world shuns him, but praises the butterfly
The butterfly represents the talent, the thoughtfulness, and the beauty within the caterpillar
But having a harsh outlook on life the caterpillar sees the butterfly as weak and figures out a way to pimp it to his own benefits
Already surrounded by this mad city the caterpillar goes to work on the coc00n which institutionalizes him
He can no longer see past his own thoughts
He's trapped
When trapped inside these walls certain ideas start to take roots, such as going home, and bringing back new concepts to this mad city
The result?
Wings begin to emerge, breaking the cycle of feeling stagnant
Finally free, the butterfly sheds light on situations that the caterpillar never considered, ending the eternal struggle
Although the butterfly and caterpillar are completely different, they are one and the same."

:wow:

Still think he sucks. Mostly cuz of his voice

His lyrics are meh. Hard for me to take ppl seriously saying he's a great lyricist when ka's last album had a dozen verses better than Kendricks best that I've heard

Ka writes better than Kendrick. Without question.

I'm not even a Ka fan but I recognize pen game when I see it. These cats are pretending I haven't been listening to hip hop for almost twenty years now.

And I'm not twenty.

He never takes your points into consideration, he just dances around them and keeps talking his shyt :what:

You will never change his mind :francis:

You can't even troll the thread for cheap daps since most people who click on his threads get bored half a page through :mjcry:

This the one quotable I can remember from Kendrick. Brehs writing essays on how he raps doesn't make for quotables, ok, but all the greats have a couple of lines that everybody kind of knows. Whether it's the line itself or the delivery. This one the only one that made me go back to catch it again. It also helps that he didn't do it in one of his chipmunk voices.

Not a bad comparison.

Breh I'm sorry but that "poem" is actually quite weak. Keeps on repeating the same words, makes long sentences to make simple points, and the ending which supposed to be strong is stating some blatant evident stuff as if it was profound. It's exactly the kind of stuff that make me not buy this whole Kendrick is the new Nas or Kendrick the great lyricst stuff.

What has nas said that was ever groundbreaking or profound? I'll wait

For example :

A thug changes, and love changes, and best friends become strangers;

I never sleep, cause sleep is the cousin of Death;

When I was 12 I went to hell for snuffin' Jesus

Doesn't have to some long-ass sentences, in the words of The Genius, "Make it brief son, half-short, twice strong"

Never heard 2nd childhood, right?

"So he moves with his peers, different blocks, different years
Sitting on, different benches like it's musical chairs"

"They call her the brain surgeon"

"Selfish in her own right for life."

2nd childhood is a great example because it's everything people say Kendrick does, but actually good. It's not a "quotables" song but a story song told from multiple perspectives and yet it still has memorable lines (forgot the comicview one)

Either way, lol at nas not saying anything profound. 2nd childhood is just the tip of the iceberg.

You newbies :scust:
