Kawhi Leonard Taking a Leave of Absence Due to LA Fires

I never seen so many scorned men over a guy taking leave over a historic fire in LA. Knowing him he probably has family directly effected by the fires.

Take his history into account. Also, I'm pretty certain there are other athletes who play in the L.A. area in basketball, football, and hockey. Why is Kawhi the only athlete we have heard about doing this?

And I also agree with everyone else in that the optics are wild if he’s the only one of the 2 LA teams plus the like 200 guys in the Chargers and Rams

We know these fires are out of control, people have died, and communities have been destroyed. We aren't dependent on anyones response to know this is some sad, serious shyt. The fact that Kawhi is the only one is sus for all those others, not the other way around.

Kawhis history actually works for him. nikka aint never needed no excuse or approval to miss games. Whole Spurs org was questioning his injury and he was . He brought load management into the lexicon. He has no reason to front now.

Right, folks are acting like it's just this situation in a vacuum. Kahwi has damn near spent the last fours year away from his team and he just came back last week. Not only that but athletes spend half the season away from home anyway. And money? he makes $1 million a week from he NBA and more from endorsements, displacement would take a few days max. He doesn't want to be there and wants free money, that's been obvious for years now.

Yea, it is insane that the NHL postponed the Kings game last night but, as if right now, the Lakers game is still scheduled to go on.

Even the schools are closed, do they think a bunch of fans are gonna come in and cheer and spend like normal when they don't know if their homes are at risk tomorrow?
