Ima give some of my bros benefit of the doubt that they aint realize how bad these fires are. I know I didnt. Cant knock somebody for taking leave in this situation. This is beyond jokes, standom, and trolling. I am actually confused as to why more LA athletes arent doing the same and why the orgs/leagues arent stepping in.

Yeah I’m pretty sure if his family was in danger of burning alive it would be a story. They were told to evacuate days ago.

Finding a way to move/postpone whatever games the clippers/Lakers have after the word got out about the evacuations. Maybe 2 or 3 games, just so the players/staff can get their families situated.
Not saying that it is an easy task, but the league has an image of "NBA Cares." I wouldn't think that players/coaches are actually focused on the game if they are thinking about their children/wives/kids actively evacuating their houses.

It has nothing to do with how bad the fires are truthfully, people don’t want players to miss games, ever. We’ve seen guys like Dejounte & Wiggins get shytted on for missing games bc family members are in the hospital, guys like Jokic & Horford get criticized for missing games for the birth of their child

This guy just don't love the game. It is what it is. He treats it like a job that you don't really like but pays you well and isn't hard for you to do. You aint trying to do no OT or weekend work and leave exactly at 5pm everyday. But if you ever worked in something you love it doesn't even feel like work and you eat breathe and sleep it.
It sucks, because it feels like a lot of the responses are from Kawhi and other players overly doing the load management thing. So now when something serious come up people aren’t as understanding. Sucks cuz I can understand wanting to be with fam, but people already think he’s suspect anyway so while insensitive it isn’t exactly shocking either.

Right, folks are acting like it's just this situation in a vacuum. Kahwi has damn near spent the last fours year away from his team and he just came back last week. Not only that but athletes spend half the season away from home anyway. And money? he makes $1 million a week from he NBA and more from endorsements, displacement would take a few days max. He doesn't want to be there and wants free money, that's been obvious for years now.
NBA fans deserve better.
