People acting like he just had a regular house fire when the reality is his entire house is possibly a pile of ashes. All of his wife’s and kids clothes, all of his possessions and memorabilia, everything is possibly gone.

Doesn’t matter how much money he has, you can’t just plant your family somewhere and go play basketball after that.

I’d say that warrants a leave of absence

I get that it's cool and funny to make fun of Kawhi missing games but when shyt like this happens let him take whatever time he needs. Nobody knows what type of turmoil his family situation is right now, of all things to make fun of him for missing games this one ain't it.

As if Kawhi gives a fukk what dudes on here think, ESPECIALLY with this wildfire situation :mjlol:

shyt bigger than basketball

His family is directly affected by the fire. This is bigger than basketball. How can people be so callous & cruel at a time like this
Fans resent athletes no matter how much they cheer for them in games.

Even in this thread you're seeing "oh he a millionaire, he'll be aight." He might be able to start over quicker from a financial standpoint, but starting over SUCKS!

The league should step in for something like this. I can't fault Kawhi for taking leave because I would do the same thing. If the fires are affecting that many players/fans, there is no way everyone is giving their best effort in those games.

HE LEFT THE TEAM
TO GO PUT OUT THE FIRE?

His kids are like 8 and 6, so I completely understand him leaving the team to be with them in this kind of situation. Especially if their house is burned down. It's a traumatic experience for them that they'll always remember and Kawhi is choosing to be with them during this time.

I'm assuming his shyt burned down, with that assumption in mind, ain't no way I'm going to work the same day with elementary aged kids that live with me.

What should the league do about a natural disaster or are you talking about him leaving because of something like this?
