Hart is traditionally a backup 2 guard. Most likely, either him or Duece is starting at 2 with Bridges at 3.

Team has Chamet and Payne as backup 1 and 2s.
Hart hasnt played the 2 since Portland :why: He has been exclusively a forward as a knick. Shamet doesnt have to play, and the knicks do believe in Kolek enough to give a guaranteed deal.

Deuce is the first guard off the bench. The lineup is just fine starting Mikal at SG since he and OG can guard interchangeably

Without Mitch:

Brunson
Mikal
OG
Hart/Precious
Towns

With mitch:
Brunson
Mikal
OG
Towns
Mitch

Maybe he’ll surprise me but I don’t see a bounce back season from Dame either. He’s 34

Just feels like an encore of last season is inevitable for MIL
They were essentially a play-in team after Doc came into the picture and it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if that’s where they are again.

We'll agree to disagree on Hart playing a fụcking power forward over OG or Precious. God speed. 👍🏽

But getting a top-10 player isn't realistic for the Knicks.

This is legitimately the best roster that they can get, which is why focusing on what KAT can't do is rather futile because it's not like another move would've been better. I don't think he presents the same problems either because Randle would've taken away from Brunson, OG and Mikal, and fundamentally changed the identity of their offense. Now the offense (and team) will be about Brunson, with the other three sidekicks supplementing that, and you're not going to have someone trying to hijack the offense or putting up shots that aren't within the flow of it.

KAT's shooting and floor spacing at the 5 is going to be game-changing for a team that didn't have it before. He's gonna pull out all those big men from the paint and allow everyone else to go to work -- even when he isn't showing up. If nothing else his ability to be a distraction and magnet for defensive big men out on the perimeter is infinitely more valuable than whatever Randle provided them with.

It's pretty damn unfathomable how the Knicks managed to pull all these moves off. It's pretty damn close to the best team they've ever had.
This is definitely the best Knicks team ever on paper and it's not even close.

The Ewing, Speedwell, Houston Knicks were nowhere near this team on paper. You gotta go back to the Walt Frasier days and even those teams aren't as good on paper.

Randle would implode the locker room if they had him coming off of the bench in a contract year.
It's literally the only way for the team to succeed unless you make Naz the C, Randle the starting 4 and bring Rudy Gaybert off the bench.

I think they fụcked themselves longterm picking up his contract though. I can see them making another move to trade Rudy, Randle and DDV to build around Naz and Ant. That's the only smart move.

Wolves did the OKC 2012 move when they got rid of Harden to save money

This is glen taylor all over again being cheap as fukk and trading away an important piece for a one year rental of randle and whatever years Donte has left.
You know what, I didn't realize the Thunder's Finals run was that same year. Kind of similar with Minny coming off of a WCFs run with this roster and then pivoting that hard.

The uncertainty with the ownership group also gives their GM a way out which is why he was being rumored leaving if Taylor remained the owner
