Some artists approach albums with various mind states. This album was made as an experience. That's why the rollout was the way it was.

It's like a blockbuster movie. The director is making it with the big screen in mind. The score, the vfx, the color grading etc... It's all being put together with the intent of maximizing the viewer's experience in a movie theater.

With DONDA, it's like everything was composed as a singular experience that was meant to feel live with others energy also being a part of the listening experience. I'm sure this album hits 10x harder for those who went to a listening session that he had because the music will take them back to the moments that they first heard it live.

The downside tho, is that the vast majority of us didn't go to the listening event so the music isn't going to translate for us the same.

:yeshrug:

Do you really feel like about this album?

...or are you saying this because youre from Chicago?

I stopped listening to "secular" music like a year ago, so appreciate Kanye trying to put out music that has to do with his faith/spiritual life. That being said, listening to "Remote Control" has me tempted to go listen to every Young Thug song ever made, his verse is the best thing I have heard since I stopped listening to hip-hop.

"I treat you lovely and righteous and kind (Hah)
And we’ll be messin’ with another until we die (Yeah)
I’d give you kids at the drop off a dime (Dime)"

I NEVER READ MUSIC CRITICS.

IM LISTENING WITH MY OWN
EARS THIS shyt MID AS fukk
SO FAR.

THIS MAYBE HIS
WORST ALBUM NEXT TO YEEZUS.

STILL GOT 14 TRACKS
TO GO THOUGH SO IT MAY
TURN AROUND.

I don't listen or read critics shyt either. I don't even come into these threads until I heard the project in it's entirety first.

With that said, cacs who were on Ye's dikk through the previous albums with the reviews and thinkpieces haven't been fukking with him since he put on that red hat. You add in him working with DaBaby and it's easy to see that no matter how DONDA sounded they were going to shyt on it.

Like I said tho, I don't care cause I make my own judgment on the music

Man y’all can fukk outta here wit this shyt when everything this nikka put out over the course of the years been getting sucked off by the media regardless of quality. Now it’s “they don’t understand Ye” man fukk ALL the way outta here. This is disrespectful to the muthafukkas who been getting unfairly shytted on by the white media for years in favor of cats like Ye. Everybody a bunch of hypocrites talkin bout he crazy or cancelled n all kinda shyt just to run back and dikkride boy after one phone call. I don’t even fully blame Ye for this shyt because he gets away with it over and over because people have this false sense of “genius” from this nikka. The album is disjointed and has no sonic direction. If u wanna talk about sonics. The album doesn’t know what it wants to be. It’s doing to much in alotta spots. He doesn’t really hit on the theme of the album much at all and if he does it’s in a superficial way. All to feed his narcissism. People need to call this nikka out and reel him back in cause if he keeps getting all these passes for his bullshyt we may never see a legit classic album from this nikka ever again.
Hating ass nikka :mjlol:

When it comes to Kanye thats kind of bullshyt.

Critics tripped all over themselves to anoint Yeezus some avant garde pop art masterpiece. He got the benefit of the doubt with Life Of Pablo (“Its a LIVING, BREATHING DLC ALBUM!!!”) and Ye, critics didn’t go super hard on.
Yeezus was trash imo
