Building more homes... How about stopping institutional investors/wall-street from buying up single family homes?
She touches on it

Prior to Harris' speech on Friday, an official also released more details on the housing component of Vice President Harris' lower costs plan to "help end the housing supply shortage" that includes calling for the construction of 3 million new housing units and stopping Wall Street investors from buying homes in bulk.

Officials said she will propose a new $40 billion innovation fund -- doubling that of the $20 billion Biden-Harris proposed innovation fund -- that will be used for local governments to fund local solutions to build housing and support "innovative" methods of construction financing. It will also allow for certain federal lands to be eligible to be repurposed for new housing developments.

Harris is also proposing two acts, the Preventing the Algorithmic Facilitation of Rental Housing Cartels Act and the Stop Predatory Investing Act to help bring down the cost of rent. These acts aim to take on "corporate and major landlords" to stop them from "jacking" up prices.

The housing one is important but difficult.

More construction keeps housing prices more competitive because it increases supply. But a lot of people oppose it because of NIMBYism and their own greed about their property values.

This is something that people will need to get over. I hope Kamala...or any politician at any level, can find an effective way to explain this to the public.

Facts. Housing prices can't be fixed easily. Migration of people/families moving into cities influence housing prices, and it's hard to easily legislate housing prices with a wave of a pen
And the Economic plan said nothing about Job creation for the Middle Class and more tax benefits for Small Businesses. Which are central for society to thrive

But overall, it's not bad. Still sounds like lip service though

I never once blamed the Feds for it.

What I specifically said is that there are things that they can do to help solve some of these problems.
Yeah you're correct. But a majority of this is the local reps that designated what the land can be used for and it's purposes. You voted those people out and put people in place that align with what you want. That land becomes more available to develop for the people. It's an issue where I'm from. They're too many hotels and apartment complexs popping up but no homes which is deflating the supply to inflate prices and demand

why isn't she promising to only do that for black americans instead of for everyone? :dahell:

That's unconstitutional. Policy has to be crafted in a way where it benefits people who are disproportionately struggling.

The people you are having a conversation with in here are retarded.

Are you really going to pretend like a lot of these problems just started a few years ago and haven't been in play for years that both parties allowed to grow and fester?

One of these days, people are going to realize that these same politicians and parties that you're stanning for have been in cahoots with these corporations and allowed what's currently transpiring to happen.
Rent prices are high largely due to rent price fixing by large property management companies like real page whose offices were just raised by the FBI. This one company manages $130 billion worth of real estate:

Realpage owner: Thomas Bravo
