Nah...
Fed jobs pay below the private sector, soon as those demands for higher wages get loud enough and jobs get cut from the budget or the operation gets outsourced to a contractor it won't be all fun and games. Happened to a couple people I knew, I left those jobs before it happened to me.
Contracted positions with the feds allow degree qualification flexibility as is.
Stop lowering the bar as costs rise.
kamala is bratI remember people being up in arms when DJT wanted to replace certain degree requirements and replace it with a more experience heavy lean. Is there any difference from what Kamala is proposing here?
Have you read this thread? Half the posters are mad.I remember people being up in arms when DJT wanted to replace certain degree requirements and replace it with a more experience heavy lean. Is there any difference from what Kamala is proposing here?
At some entry level positions yes. But you need real experience for higher level positions. There are several of us in this thread who have experience with this and said a degree is not required for many jobs. But yall won't listen.she's not an idiot. people with vocational training or apprenticeships can be just as qualified.
I don't have a 4 year degree.Get rid of degree requirements while making college more affordable and marketing that to Black folk.
It was already in the works years ago but it started with IT jobs which is justifiable. The Federal Hiring process is so rigged this won't accomplish a damn thing.
Who the hell is feeding her these dumb policy ideas?
He's also trying to move most of the federal bases out of DC and put them throughout the US.on the other hand
Trump wants to fire thousands of government workers. Liberals are preparing to fight back if he wins
Former President Donald Trump has plans to radically reshape the federal government if he returns to the White House, from promising to deport millions of immigrants in the U.S. illegally to firing tens of thousands of government workers.apnews.com
Real talk and respectfully, it sounds good in theory but that is not how the game is played. The whole college degree requirement in the private sector and federal government was to limit job applicants for each vacancy. People are correct that there are a lot of jobs requiring a degree when it's not needed. The only black people this will help are those already on the inside who are putting their people on which is few. People are ignoring a lot of high-level federal jobs are politically appointed. Dropping the degree requirement will allow them to fill more jobs with own. That's why people are disagreeing with it. Again, sounds good in theory but that is not how the game is played. This is a great idea and stands to benefit black people significantly, I don't see how y'all are against this. On the job learning trumps a formal education (with no experience) so hard too. I think it's better to get people into their field of interest and hands-on sooner, than it is to have them go through 4 years of hoops with no real work to supplement their education (chances are they'll still need extensive training just to get the basic and intermediate aspects of their respective job down).
*It's better for certain fields I should've said.
