Aww great, now the federal sector will be full of a bunch of unqualified lazy bums
yes, because people without degrees are “unqualified, lazy bums.” interesting how some of you, in response to much needed egalitarian policy that would disproportionately aid black applicants, sound like garden variety conservatives.

I'm for it, we need to cut through the myth of college education in general, unless it's highly specialized training.

100% a W

College isn't a myth the thing is the avg person goes to school for bullshyt then wants to blame it on college lol. Then you have the folks who barely made it out of shytty public schools who talk down on college to feel better.

The people who don't need college don't waste their time preaching college is a joke to people, they are too busy being rich.

Get rid of degree requirements while making college more affordable and marketing that to Black folk.

:snoop:
Keep degree requirements. It's jobs out there with tuition reimbursement programs.

Degree requirements for specialized jobs are necessary - especially for fed positions.
Having a degree waives some experience, public sector jobs already do this.
Why would getting rid of four-year degree be requirements benefit everyone when already qualified people are competing for positions in already impacted job sectors?

I don't know if you worked a fed job or a job contracted with the feds, but it's just job security after probation.
Quality of work and time it takes to get done is usually lacking.

The degree as a barrier to entry is not the problem.

What she needs to fix is the damn OPM hiring process and get rid of the nepotism and usajobs needs a complete overhaul.
Somebody gets it.

I would agree with this move only if they invested more into public school education.

This. The Public school system should be overhauled to prepare people for base level white collar careers and blue collar work. Let college be for high level in depend stuff that pushes the country forward and innovates.

nikkas getting 100k in debt to work at a State Farm Call center but they mama happy lol

We can't keep neglecting formal education as a people.
ok, but let’s deal with reality as we know it rather than a fanciful future that is unlikely to materialize in this capitalist society.

college tuition is prohibitively expensive to a historically marginalized - and, consequently, impoverished - black community.

we either, as studies show, incur insurmountable debt - and, oftentimes, without attaining degrees - or are unable to afford tuition altogether.

removing a four year degree requirement, while still necessitating rigorous gatekeeping that takes skillset into consideration, will disproportionately aid black men and women in this country.
