Just finished this and I can't lie, I have EXTREMELY mixed feelings about this one.

Ultimately this story just comes off as kind of cheap.

They violently kill a bunch of characters during the story, go overboard with the whole grimdark thing, all knowing none of it would stick and they were just going to reset the timeline at the end.

Basically, the movie was entertaining but in the end it just leaves you feeling like it was just empty shock value.

Yea, my takeaway from this film was that their "Flashpoint" adaptation already did this type of story... and did it better.

dark, bleak future, no hope, world about to end blah blah blah.. but with less nuance and subtleties, the catalyst for it all (Superman being a dumbass) having far less emotional weight than the empathy of Flash simply wanting to save his mom. And as you said, it tries to compensate by spamming the "shock value" of seeing everyone die.. knowing damn well Flash will just hit the reset button... again :heh:

With the moral of the whole exercise being... "welp.. i guess we weren't as superheroic as we thought.. shyt! :heh:"

Also not quite sure why John Constastine all of a sudden became the RDJ for the DCEU . I guess that show of his that got cancelled was more popular than i thought, bc they really like using this guy.

Hopefully in whatever comes next, they switch the focus to other DC characters.

Constantine is a good Everyman, he’s powerful but normal at the same time so he’s one of the most relatable in the roster they use

You find him relatable?

He just sounds like a typical jackass Brit (i work with them overseas), but with dues ex machina powers.

Black Lightning in Young Justice was a more relatable type, even in his p*ssy-whippedness.

I can definitely see where you're coming from especially since they knew that
Flash is the key to resetting everything since this is the future cause of Flashpoint
It felt like they knew they could kill off and mane a bunch of heroes cause everything will reset itself and become another universe.

I'm probably way off but this feels like it was their IW/EG wrapped into one and now they'll go into their next phase of animated movies, which would be Doomsday clock I think since doesn't it come out that it turns out that it wasn't the Flash's fault but Dr. Manhattan was doing all this just to see how Superman would react and shyt

Before whatever they do next for their animated universe, I kinda wanna see Dark Night Metal get adapted into a 2-3 movie story cause that was some crazy shyt

Batman and Superman solo stories usually sell better compared to other characters. That’s why they always get solo films or they try and shoehorn them into the story (JL:Dark)

When Superman at the end says, "we're the Justice League, we can't quit". Do you think everyone turned around and looked at him because they were inspired or because they couldn't believe the narcissistic and selfish bullshyt that just came out of his mouth.
I watched it again and that part had me :deadmanny:

And Constantine just ignored him and told Flash to reboot the timeline :heh:
