Just started Stronglifts 5x5

How many of ya'll are incorporating auxiliary lifts in addition to the main ones? I couldn't help but add some, if only to feel like I wasn't wasting time in the gym.

i do it for a minute until i start hitting plateaus then i start doing just the main moves and switch around the ones i know are struggling

ie if my bench is slowing down ill do it first

I've done both, I favor SS because it is easier for me to stick with. The 5x5 is a little much for me personally. Both are very solid programs tho and you can make great gains on either one.

you guys reccommend Starting strength > sl though?

Personally as someone that has done and trained people on both I say do starting strength first.

After looking through SS the only difference i see is 3x5 instead of 5x5 and powercleans instead of rows Meh, I'm not sure how I feel about them cleans that shyt looks sketchy. :usure:
Could I just do SL with 3x5 if the volume gets too much?

dont underestimate the effect power cleans will have on you :whoa: shyt is to this day my favorite lift

shiet, I'm not comfortable doing power cleans as of now since I wont have a spotter or anyone to watch my form.. :sadcam:

I fukked up and did 4 sets of squats with the weight from the other day :francis:

Went back and did 5x5 with the correct weight :takedat:

The heavier weight actually felt lighter around the 3 set :blessed:

Started with stronglifts. It's really amaxing, I always go back to it when I need a restart. 1

I just started this today. It feels kinda silly to be starting with such minor weight. I look like a fool just lifting the bar and it's not challenging.
