Apparently Idris Elba has been in talks to take over as Bond when Daniel Craig leaves...

Idris is that nikka but honestly some things should not be touched. I'd much rather he be in the world as another agent than have to live up to the James Bond billing. I mean he could be a 007 but not "James Bond".

So? I should automatically feel different because you are white and think Idris shoud be bond? Its not even a race thing but a more of a story continuity/being a fan of the character. I've been a fan of Ian Flemings books and the mythos around the character is set around an orphan of french/scottish background who turns into this super agent. Why even tamper with that just to incorporate Idris?.

Why not introduce him into the same world as a Agent but not necessarily "James Bond". Considering M16 is fond of recruiting orphans why not have him as a similar agent to 007 who might have come up the youth ranks with Bond in the training and has been on several different missions. Leaves the door much more open to having two agents liasing in one movie on some action piff
