They definitely should, but the vast majority of students don't donate to their alma maters.
And a lot of schools have damn near monopolies on hyper-wealthy alums.
Schools like Harvard, Stanford and MIT have trillion dollar alum economies.
Its incredibly unfortunate that its like this.

that's a common african american trait..WE DON'T INVEST IN OURSELVES

we have a consumer mentality.....

black busineses....with the exception of the church don't have revenue circulating back within........

even in the rap game..i use to plead with local enteratiners to take just as much time to buy ads or promote on my internet radio network just as much as they were throwing dollars at scrippers and buying up loud and likka....

but nikkas are hell bent on self destruction...whether it's entertainment or education

but we got it from our MAMA'S and PAPAS :manny:

Where did they get this wealth from, it's easy to have wealth, when your wealth first came from slavery:patrice::

Harvard Will Own Up To Its Role In Slavery
“Slavery is an aspect of Harvard’s past that has rarely been acknowledged or invoked.”

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., March 30 (Reuters) - Harvard University plans to install a plaque next week honoring four slaves who worked on the campus in the 1700s, to acknowledge its role in slavery, the Ivy League university’s president said on Wednesday.

“Although we embrace and regularly celebrate the storied traditions of our nearly 400-year history, slavery is an aspect of Harvard‘s past that has rarely been acknowledged or invoked,” Drew Faust said in an op-ed in the Harvard Crimson student newspaper. “Harvard was directly complicit in America’s system of racial bondage from the college’s earliest days in the 1700s until slavery in Massachusetts ended in 1783.”

University officials on April 6 will install a plaque on Wadsworth House, the second-oldest building on campus, which formerly served as the university president’s home and now is an office building. It will honor four slaves named Bilhah, Venus, Titus and Juba, who worked in the university president’s home in the 18th century.

Earlier in March, the prestigious university decided to drop the 80-year-old coat of arms of its law school, because it featured the family crest of a slaveholder who was an early donor to the institution.

Students at dozens of U.S. colleges and universities including Harvard staged protests last fall over the legacies of racism on campus. The protests led to the resignation of president of the University of Missouri and prompted to schools including Yale, Brown and Princeton to review their commitment to diversity

JSU is not in the red:stopitslime:

BUT a lot of reserve funds have disappeared under her watch

Which is my main point. JSU has so much potential but the c00ns and white supremacists who run the show are driving it to the ground. Apparently she did the same thing at Norfolk.

White folks prop these Talented 10th c00ns to run HBCUS because they know they will keep things business as usual and not do anything too "radical". typically the realest people at HBCUs are the professors and maybe Deans, but the Presidents tend to always be on some bull.

HBCUS tend to produce Bougie c00ns, and I`m noticing PWIs produce the pseudo militants because these kids try to get down with whites and end up getting sh*tted on
, while at HBCUs some black kids end up being nurtured into being the next gen Talented 10th but with no concern of building things.

Very underrated post.

There are 100+ HBCUS, when in reality we need to consolidate them to maybe 10-20. IMO All HBCUs should merge into the Current MEAC and SWAC schools outside of a few.

Don't talk heresy like that ...........:camby:.

There are 48 million African Americans, that's more than enough potential students to keep doors open.... hell there's plenty of HBCU's with double digit percentages of non-whites.

Ain't no way you attended an HBCU and going to imply/suggest we close down 80+ HBCUs!!!........ my face is literally :scust: right now typing this. Don't bring that PWI talk when you discussing our AA legacy like this......

Under what conditions do you suggest we close down dozens of HBCUs? These are shrines and testaments to the African American experience. If anything we need to make sure we keep at least a 100 of them open.

No I don't want that. But you sound like you speaking that corporate stockholder talk. "Oh let's just shut it down Brad, it's underperforming and we can just sell the assets to a developer."...:snoop:.. We need to be striving to keep 100 doors open...for another 100 years.

lol Like Neely Fuller says, Black people the most meetingist people on this planet and never get anything done. Love partying but got nothing to celebrate about.
In that Tariq Nasheed thread with him visiting Haiti, it seemed like the locals were more into partying/dancing/blasting music than repairing and building their county :snoop:

I don't know where I stand on all this HBCU drama.

My school came up huge after I graduated. I wish I went there, now.
