They will drop hundreds of dollars for plane tickets, hotels, rental cars, etc. to make it to homecoming. Not to mention the money they will drop on alcohol and other shyt during homecoming pre and afterparties.

But, they cannot donate $20 to the school?

Morehouse has graduated a lot of brehs over the last 50 years.

It should have more than a $130 endowment.

They definitely should, but the vast majority of students don't donate to their alma maters.
And a lot of schools have damn near monopolies on hyper-wealthy alums.
Schools like Harvard, Stanford and MIT have trillion dollar alum economies.
Its incredibly unfortunate that its like this.

Imagine if Every HBCU had a mandatory State of Black America conference during their Homecoming that was mandatory to go to where alum plan out all the things they plan on doing for the up coming year in that City/State the HBCU is located in.

White folks prop these Talented 10th c00ns to run HBCUS because they know they will keep things business as usual and not do anything too "radical". typically the realest people at HBCUs are the professors and maybe Deans, but the Presidents tend to always be on some bull.

HBCUS tend to produce Bougie c00ns, and I`m noticing PWIs produce the pseudo militants because these kids try to get down with whites and end up getting sh*tted on, while at HBCUs some black kids end up being nurtured into being the next gen Talented 10th but with no concern of building things.

ole fukkers were too blind and old to see it..stuck in they ways..had this ole I GOT MINES MENTATLITY...all the old alumni raped the school finances...my homeboy daddy was even selling MBA's at one time...smh

they all bought houses and benz and bmw's and didn't INVEST AT ALL into the school.....the school was in so much debt they had to BEG the founder of gulfstream (g4 jets) and the state to build a stadium and redo the dorms which looked like the projects.....

man we just hate ourselves.......even at the academia level we no different than the nikkas in the hoodz....

There are too many HBCUs.

Even schools such as Morehouse are on shaky financial footing. With all those nikkas who've graduated from there, you'd think they'd have a good chunk of change from an endowment perspective.

Its endowment is only $130 million.

To put things into perspective, a rich CAC wrote Harvard a check for $400 million last year! That was one person and one donation! Howard, the richest HBCU, only has a $500 million endowment.

Yet, all those nikkas will be in Atlanta this weekend for homecoming. Why aren't they pumping money back into the school?

I read that Morehouse story, Morehouse is in real trouble right now.

Did anyone actually read the article?
The operating budget for the school is fine, its the "savings" account of the school that's dipping dangerously low.
Part of it likely has to do with the cheap tuition of the school, and various repairs and implementations of new programs.
She wasn't pocketing the money, the school isn't having accountancy issues.
Mississippi has too many HBCUs though, they need to merge a few, share endowments, create a system, something.

Yeah you read the article, but you did not understand the article LoL.

Obviously the operating budget is fine, because the operating budget is money in which the school uses to keep it's doors open, which comes from the state (it comes from the state because it's a public school). Hypothetically speaking, if it cost JSU $10,000 everyday to keep the school open and the state of Mississippi gives the school $15,000; that left over $5,000 goes into the savinga account.

This is the problem, if the state of Mississippi cuts their public school budget and JSU only recieves $5,000 (to keep JSU operating it cost 10,000); $10,000 less than last year. They have to come up with the extra $5,000 to keep JSU's doors open, that's when the savings account comes into play.

Since the savings account is all fukked up, JSU does not have any resources left to keep their doors open, just in case the state of Mississippi decided to cut funding for public universities.

You saying Mississippi has to many school is stupid.

I went to Grambling and the state of Mississippi always tried to shut down JSU, MVS, Alcorn and other hbcu's. Louisiana tried to shut down my school and Southern.
