Step slower from the back injury Colts cut him cause of his contract and he got outplayed by Zaire Franklin and EJ Speed.

When he was out there 60.3 PFF grade, career high in missed tackles at 8.6 percent and he allowed 17 catches on 22 targets for 158 yards

But he is experienced and understands gap and coverage assignments as well as still got the playmaking ability (i.e. forced fumbles and solid tackling) plus he is with a better d line and secondary than what the colts have.

He is best when u let him freelance which Desai does let the linebackers do a bit in his scheme. Morrow prior to last sunday with Cunningham played well in that spot. Leonard is definitely an upgrade over Morrow.

Don't expect an All Pro tho, expect at least and at most competent linebacker play with occasional splash plays.

So long answer short, we are a bit better but still kind of fukked in the middle of the field passing game wise.
Yeah there's no way he's not an upgrade over Morrow and especially Ellis. Sounds pretty similar to what we're getting from Cunningham at this point tbh

I thought Morrow was pretty good earlier in the year, but last game was about as bad as it gets

We were talking about in the game thread, and I think when they go nickle they need to just put Byard at one of the LB spots. Just rotate between Cunningham and Leonard at the other spot

I'm scared for Nakobe to even get back on the field at this point, but by the reports when he was injured, he "should be" ready at some point around Xmas. Hard to have any faith in him now, but there's no way he's not better than this current group in coverage. If he was healthy anyways

Damn Breh, all time?

we have definitely seen worse over the years :heh:.

Worst I seen over 10 years was that 2012 one that got Big Red fired.

Statically breh red zone defense to third down conversions to passing tds and total yards allowed yes.

It's a combination of coaching and player personnel

Saw this on youtube and hit the :jbhmm:

Everyone talking about Jon Gannon gone. No one talking about Dennard Wilson gone. Ravens secondary number 2 in the league as of 12/5/23
nah he was one of the biggest loses. now the only way we were going to keep him is making him our DC.

not knowing what we know now. just what we first knew about Desai & his time with the Hawks & Pete. then of course the elite defense he ran with the Bears. do you go with Wilson or Desai? because it was reported that Wilson basically was about to get the job players were pushing for him. but then they interviewed Desai they wanted him & it pissed off Wilson.

but another thing to keep in mind is the defensive scheme they run with the Ravens is 10x better then what we run here. again organizationally we like this Fangio fukking bend done break no big play defense. so Wilson wouldnt have gotten to run what he wanted to here. that is ultimately why we went with Desai becasue he is from that Fangio tree. Wilson is working with better DBs too with the Ravens.

Wouldn’t say all that, he showed neither one with this Colts during the season. That’s not to mention he has nerve issues in his back…he may be an upgrade to what y’all have at LB but I wouldn’t expect much tbh
