Yeah there's no way he's not an upgrade over Morrow and especially Ellis. Sounds pretty similar to what we're getting from Cunningham at this point tbhStep slower from the back injury Colts cut him cause of his contract and he got outplayed by Zaire Franklin and EJ Speed.
When he was out there 60.3 PFF grade, career high in missed tackles at 8.6 percent and he allowed 17 catches on 22 targets for 158 yards
But he is experienced and understands gap and coverage assignments as well as still got the playmaking ability (i.e. forced fumbles and solid tackling) plus he is with a better d line and secondary than what the colts have.
He is best when u let him freelance which Desai does let the linebackers do a bit in his scheme. Morrow prior to last sunday with Cunningham played well in that spot. Leonard is definitely an upgrade over Morrow.
Don't expect an All Pro tho, expect at least and at most competent linebacker play with occasional splash plays.
So long answer short, we are a bit better but still kind of fukked in the middle of the field passing game wise.
I thought Morrow was pretty good earlier in the year, but last game was about as bad as it gets
We were talking about in the game thread, and I think when they go nickle they need to just put Byard at one of the LB spots. Just rotate between Cunningham and Leonard at the other spot
I'm scared for Nakobe to even get back on the field at this point, but by the reports when he was injured, he "should be" ready at some point around Xmas. Hard to have any faith in him now, but there's no way he's not better than this current group in coverage. If he was healthy anyways
