The man’s the king of curses during the golden age. Why does that surprise you?
I wouldn't say he wasn't trying, that's a bit too far but he very clearly had the advantage throughout the fight if you were paying attention to the minute details. It literally took until the end of the fight for him to even get uncomfortable. :francis:

The whole wasn't even trying line is just a load of garbage.
@Ironman This narrative by scorned fans is really stupid. In no part of the manga is it said or implied Sukuna "wasn't even trying". In fact, it's the only part of the chapter Gege put any effort in explaining: Gojo wanted Sukuna to have a transformative experience (like Gojo did) but Sukuna was just doing his thing. That does not equate to "he wasn't trying".

Dammit Tony, don't do this! :damn:

They never said he wasn't trying, they stated he wasn't going 100% and still had something in reserve. Gojo got hit with that Salmon Jacket version of Sukuna.

People are so up in their feelings that now the narrative is "so Sukuna wasn't even trying?! :martin:" when not even the shyttiest of translations said that.

Gojo's point is that he did everything in his power to make Sukuna care about the fight and find the "fun" of being as powerful as he is. He wanted Sukuna to feel what Hanami felt when she faced Yuji and Todou (or what Saitama felt when Garou put up a real fight in OPM) because Gojo is kinda like Goku and gets off over fighting powerful people :dame: and wanted the most OP character in existence to feel he wasn't alone.

In the end Sukuna was more worried about winning the fight in the most efficient possible manner, and he did. He still had a lot of fun fighting Satoru but he didn't have a transformative experience like Gojo hoped he would have.

Is this great writing? fukk no, but Gege did not imply that Sukuna didn't give a shyt and won easily either.

Tbh this breakdown was great and painted a clearer picture of the dialog's intent
