I remember coming home for lunch, watching a Xenosaga cutscene and then going back to class.

I don't think I ever finished that game.

I didn't really care for Chrono Cross. Maybe because to much of the original team wasn't involved. It just wasn't the same without the dream team.

I loves the era of JRPG's. Games for the most part ass now unless you are into shooters. Need dat Final Fantasy to come thru and raise the bar

"Open world" simply doesn't work for everything. There's still a place for linear games.

Exactly. Linear games push the pace much better. If you want to create a game where the gamer is just free to explore, open-world works well, but I find the narrative gets pushed in the background a lot of the time and a lot of urgency is lost when you can simply ignore quests and just ride around in the world. Open world is great for some games, but not every game needs an open-world.
