Damn.... moral of the story is to control your emotions and anger. One slip up and its a wrap. Never let anyone get in your mind enough to make you act out. If someone is too much for you where you feel like youre going to go there, then they arent for you. Just let them go and keep your peace

I keep saying this. I will walk out the house with the clothes on my back and never return before allowing her to have that power over me where I put my hands on her.

As HOH as I am, I can't fathom beating up a chic. I draw a line there. I'm not going to tell you that they haven't pushed me to that point... cause they definitely have. :francis:

But I'm not doing it. Like I said, I will walk away (literally) with the clothes on my back and disappear before doing that. She'd never see me again.

I argue with people all that time that immediately say settling out of court means someone is guilty of a crime. I always counter that even if you're innocent there is a good chance some dirt would come out in court that's going to fukk over your career regardless. Better to just pay out some money and keep all that information behind closed doors.

That's criminal vs civil though. In this case, it's criminal, and not civil, so a conviction, for a misdemeanor isn't really a big deal, but for him, it is. His career. His reputation. Maybe some jail time. But, what he should have done is not settle, but plead, basically have his attorney's and the prosecutors create some kind of win-win plea bargain. No one wants to actually try a bullshyt misdemeanor. Besides some hungry ass young DA.

Bad move to go to trial. even if he pulls it off, the gamble was a bad one.

Real shyt, some people like to get into peoples minds and play with their emotions for sport. Its a control thing. Some people actually will try to push someone to that point so they try to get that person to put hands on them just so they can call the police to ruin their life on some "he hit me, he threatened me and etc etc". Gotta watch for these setup types. He probably was setup and fell for the bait

It's over.

Even if he beats this - I'm afraid those texts will be circulating on social media for perpetuity and his public image and perception are forever tainted - especially in the current social climate

not specific to this, but adjacent to this conversation - I saw a viral tweet the other day that said "My hobby is telling people their favorites are abusers" shyt had like +10K likes:francis: To me it read like the most loser shyt ever, to others apparently it was cool. This is what people do these days :hubie:

Either way, let this be a lesson brehs - best way to avoid shyt like this is to ensure yall don't go around abusing women :hubie:

And I would have no problem with this if the people who were posting and liking that foolery weren't doing the same foul stuff they accusing others of.

I'm sick of these hypocrites.

This is very bad for Major's but it's not his lawyer's fault. The judge's reasoning for allowing the texts to be unsealed and read aloud in court was extremely flimsy. It seems he's forgetting who's on trial here and for what.

Johnathan Majors is on trial for an incident that occurred in 2023. The prosecution has to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that he committed the crime(s) that he's been accused of. The defense doesn't have such a burden. Attacking the alleged victims character and credibility is a sound defense strategy. That creates doubt so it is relevant in the current case. These text messages read aloud in court allude to some vague incident that happened in London back in 2022. How do they prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Majors is guilty in the 2023 incident?

The judge initially had these texts under seal because they would prejudice the jury against Majors and he is correct, yet he has now allowed them to be released because the defense was too harsh on the alleged victim? How else can doubt be created in the mind of the jury if the defense isn't allowed to call out an unreliable narrator? This is the sort of shyt that gets thrown out on appeal but that wouldn't matter in this case as Majors is fighting for his career more so than his freedom. From the onset it seems as if the DA's office wanted to win a conviction in the court of public opinion and a victory in an actual court of law would just be the cherry on top.

After today all they have left to win is the cherry. :francis: Unfortunate situations like this are why people settle out of court or even negotiate a friendly plea agreement. Once you commit to taking this sort of case to trial and proclaim your innocence the only viable strategy the defense has is to attack the alleged victim. That's not going to work in today's environment; particularly a black man being accused of crimes against a white woman.

And to be perfectly honest, I don't care if he's guilty or not. Yeah, if he did it, he shouldn't have done it but how does that affect me? I just want to be entertained. Sanction him a few million behind the scenes for allowing this trivial lover's spat to spill over into the public and move on. It's not like the DA's office cares either, they just love mounting big fish in their wall. If that's what they want to do so be it, however, this shyt here is weak but the circumstances and the public mood are on their side.

People forget that Wesley Snipes smacked the shyt out of Halle Berry cause he's an entertaining draw. And RDJ is literally a violent felon and former crack fiend, yes complexion for protection but his talent helped him get back on track.

Totally different social climate. I mean Josh Brolin - Marvel's own Thanos - got a domestic abuse arrest from 2004. Even 5-7 years ago Majors would have had a better chance of bouncing back - but now? It's over

“I fear you have no perspective of what could happen if you go to the hospital,” Majors, 34, texted Jabbari, 30, in September 2022. “They will ask you questions, and as I don’t think you actually protect us, it could lead to investigation even if you do lie, and they suspect something.”

In the text messages — displayed to the jury and read into the record by Jabbari on her fourth and final day on the stand on Friday — Jabbari had assured Majors that she would not blame him for causing an injury to her head.

“I will tell the doctor I bumped my head,” Jabbari cried as she read aloud the message in court.

Then unable to continue through her tears, Assistant District Attorney Kelli Galaway took over: “I will tell the doctor I bumped my head if I go. I’m going to give it one more day, but I can’t sleep and I need some stronger pain killers. That’s all: why would I tell them what really happened when it’s clear I want to be with you.”

I'm only concerned with with the incident he's being tried for. Chick chased him for 5 blocks, I already know how they were getting down behind closed doors. I doubt he was beating her but I think they have tussled before.

She recorded audio and saved texts but has no pics of previous beatings? That's because there were no beatings.

Judge Michael Gaffey previously ruled the texts were inadmissible. He permitted their introduction after Majors’ lawyer, Priya Chaudhry, grilled his alleged victim about not reporting him to police.

Jonathan Majors fukked over his lawyer over by not telling her the truth. :snoop:
She swung the battle axe thinking shyt was sweet but wait...

Gaffey said the forceful line of questioning opened the door to the old texts relating to Jabbari’s feelings about contacting authorities and told the jury to consider them as background.
