You know the funny thing about these first two games?
You could argue Phoenix has actually played better, or more to the point, they've played more to their ability than Denver has. Their offense is through Devin and KD creating in ISO, and for the most part, they've been damn effective with it; relying on those tough, contested shots trying to break down their defender on an island.
They shot 59% on twos in Game 1
They shot 50% on twos in Game 2.
Those percentages are even better when you take into account how difficult their shot generation is.
But they're running into the same problem they did last season against the Mavs - it's the type of shots they're taking.
Denver are using less energy when creating good opportunities at the rim and behind the arc, and Phoenix are using more energy to create opportunities in the spaces between. It's why Denver has managed to play through their stars struggling on offense (Jokic in Game 1 and Murray and MPJ in Game 2) and seemingly still being in control throughout both games. The offense they run is not only more reliable, but their journey to generating points is a lot easier than it is for Phoenix.
The Suns' offense is the worst of both worlds: they don't create easy looks in the paint and they don't create good opportunities behind the arc.
