A lot Black ppl in these neighborhoods would like more of a police presence. They just don’t want racist police killing and harassing them for no other reason than being black..police are not the problem racist police are

:mjlol: you think there's a difference between police...:bryan::laff:

Are you serious? Crime was up everywhere in 2020.

there’s no way to deny this

Murders are up ( and yes, that is a problem ) but crime in general was down...so again, who is pushing this agenda of "crime" being up versus gun violence being up in order to justify law enforcement spending increases and the political theater of being tough on crime.

It sounds like semantics but the response to each is different. A larger police presence does not thwart murders, especially in major cities - so why aren't we talking about gun reform, why are we not talking about economic disparity that was exacerbated by the pandemic or the fact the court/legal system is still moving at a snails pace? All of this on the back of major pushes for police reform which saw a lot of mainstream backlash. This doesn't seem odd to anyone?

Yes, worrying about the well being of family members who live in hot zone cities is the mark of an elitist.

Keep joking,though.
Yes, let’s put more cops on the streets! Moar! Who cares about police violence and reform. Like I said, wannabe elitist negroes will gladly sell out everyone else for a pat on the head.

Assaults were up as well. Biden is proposing to invest more in getting illegal guns off the street and shutting down gun manufactures that sell illegal guns

that’s what the OP is about and you’re posting nerds that claim crime isn’t real and let’s get more after school programs

This is from the same AP article in the OP...guess they're nerds who just want after school programs too

And while crime is rising — homicides and shootings are up from the same period last year in Chicago; Los Angeles; Minneapolis; Portland, Oregon; Baltimore; Baton Rouge, Louisiana; and Houston — violent crime overall remains lower than it was a decade ago or even five years ago. And most violent crimes plummeted during the first six months of the pandemic, as people stayed indoors and away from others.

Crime started creeping up last summer, a trend criminologists say is hard to define and is likely due to a variety of factors such as historic unemployment, fear over the virus and mass anger over stay-at-home orders. Public mass shootings have also made an alarming return.

Interest in guns, too, is on the rise. The number of people stopped from buying guns through the U.S. background check system hit an all-time high of more than 300,000 last year amid a surge of firearm sales. And several states have passed laws barring federal gun control laws from taking effect.

Louisville Metro Police Chief Erika Shields said lax gun laws and the presence of illegal guns on the streets are compounding the violence.

“When everyone can have a gun, they tend to,” she said. “And it just leads to more illegal guns on the street.”

Make it easier for everyone to get guns or conceal them without a permit and wonder why murders are up brehs. Oh noes, crime is on the rise!

Its wildly been reported that police across the country are doing a work slowdown. Police unions send memos to cops on the ground to act this slowdown. They did after Ferguson, they did this in Baltimore after the Freddy Gray riots and their are doing this now in a national level. Cops are purposely letting crime happen to discredit the BLM movement, to move the attention from any police reform to dealing with crime so no major changes are happening. And alt of y'all fell for it hook line and sinker. After the George Floyd protest last year why did so many NYPD police officers retired and quit in mass numbers. And on top of that implement work slowdown? They are doing this to make sure the force has a manpower shortage to make crime go up to show "See police reform means more chaos and higher crime." I have seen this pattern for many years and its no coincidence this is happening. Police unions need to broken up and investigated.

Have cops do their fukking job. End qualified immunity completely. What changed from 2019 to now other than covid? Yeah we had a deep recession but the government spent trillions of dollars on relief to keep people from going over the brink. There is national slowdown going. My girlfriends parents got friends in the NYPD and once the George Floyd protest started getting national traction they told them there is a work slowdown and "Be careful." I've had former friends I went with in high school who are now cops write on social media saying shyt like "Enjoy the chaos New York," I stopped being friends with them after that. In short Ive got multiple sources and statements confirming this city wide slowdown. These pigs don't want any reform. They operate worse than the mafia when it comes to criticism against them.

Isn’t this Biden’s federal response to the gun issue?

States have lax gun laws and this is how the president is responding

What’s the issue?

Of course this is happening but city leaders have more impact on policing that the president and there has been very few places that have invested less resources in their police force

there’s no one here that’s saying police don’t need Better standards and less protection

but ending qualified immunity isn’t going to
Stop a surge in crime and people want to feel safe first and foremost

A year after uprisings took place for a change in how policing is done in America, a plead to stop police brutality and to put money into social programs instead of giving police tanks and rocket launchers, the narrative has changed to put more police out there lol.

And our democratic party elected president, corporate media, many of our “allies” and the upper crust negros are all on board with this. You gotta fukking applaud it.

And what is disturbing is crime is up because we are in the middle of a severe economic disaster where people’s lives were upended and the government provided little support.
They gonna put a lot of people in jail tho providing 3 hots and a cot. That's Joe Biden's brand of Democrat compassion. lol
