I Think If 20 Black 6 Year Olds In Chicago Were Sprayed Up In Their Classroom And On The News Every Night He'd Do The Same Thing

We Could Literally Argue These "But So And So Didn't Care Before That" About ANYTHING Brehs

Sometimes It Takes Some shyt To Be Thrown In Your Face 24/7 To Realize It

Exactly

I'm in Chicago, and I'm a HUGE Bulls fan. I hear about the shootings all the time. Never once have I watched Noah drain a jumper and do the holster celebration and say, "Man that's fukked up cause nikkas dying from guns every day in the city".

I doubt he thought about it like that as well.

But when something happens like what just happened in Conn. "then"

That's my point.....why does it this for that "then" to occur?

Dog....if something happened to you and your family in Chi-town a few years back...wouldn't you want that change to happen a few years back? My point is, it shouldn't take what happened in Newtown to spark consciousness and change about gun violence. I know a team of people from your city that's been begging Obama to do something the past 3 years about your city's gun violence. I feel a certain way that violence in CT woke him up.

We''re too accustomed to black violence in this country that it doesn't spark a national conversation or change.

lol at this thread. instead of saying good for him, you got nikkas arguing how his cause for concern is corny and contrived.

and for you idiots bringing up Chicago he addressed it.

Damn if you do, damn if you don't :heh:

That's right...every person killed in Chicago is a Chief Keef type. There are no innocent hard working, law abiding victims of gun violence. :rudy:

My people lost their 11 year old to a stray bullet in his neck. I can't drive past their old place without thinking about dude riding his bike and losing his life. It sparked a two minute conversation on the radio. they're still living with a pain no different than what those families are going through, but no one speaks loud enough for everyone to hear when its 26 kids that go through that over a course of a month.

 False. Noah stay doing work in the community and speaking against Chicago Violence.

Joakim Noah teaching peace - TrueHoop Blog - ESPN

Hats off to a crew that includes Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, Ed Pinckney, Quentin Richardson, Isiah Thomas and many others for putting a lot of heart into a multi-faceted effort to address gang violence in Chicago.

Writing about the experience for the website of the Chicago Sun-Times, Joakim Noah says it all went well.

Even though there were many doubters who thought something like this would never work, I felt really positive about the tournament and expected all of the players to cooperate. However, what I came away with at the end of the day was far greater than I could have ever imagined.

Going into the event on Saturday, I didn’t know who was fighting whom, or which guy was representing which gang. All I knew was that kids were killing kids at an unimaginable rate. My only goal that day was to listen to what they had to say and try to offer them some hope.

this post here is what i was about to post and should pretty much kill the derailment of this thread

i aint saying noah is ali, but dude is real as they come. he did this charity event with st sabina and it was a great turn out.

thing is when noah does this, the media coverage on it aint all over place so it goes unheard and would prompt a poster to say he been in chicago and aint said nothing.

but truth is, a lot of things happen that change the out look on certain issues. hurricane katrina was not the first hurricane in this country but the blatant mistreatment of those people and the magnitude on how it changed people lives made it more of a issue.

props for noah recognizing the sensitivity of the subject and just letting the gun thing go before these cacs came after him about it anyway.

if i was him i would move to chuck deuces after every shot.

Let me take a step back though. I'm not mad at Noah. The end result is him being concerned about it, and thats what matter.

But there's a bandwagonish quality to this that's annoying. WE only get on shyt depending on who it is.

Y'all don't get it.:snoop:

It's not about equating children being massacre'd to the violence in Chicago. His celebration has NOTHING to do with either. He attached his celebration to that....why??? That's grandstanding in my book. I said I'd have respected him if he did it for the violence in Chicago (which I assumed was the reason after reading the thread title), because although it has nothing to do with that violence, at least he'd be shedding light on it.

Many players tweeted and spoke on the horrific CT shootings...CJ2K wrote the names of the victims on his sneakers during his nationally televised game...none of complained about that. We realize it's a nationaly tragedy at the moment. Connecting his celebration to that makes no sense to me.

20 dead kids is gonna spark a bigger reaction then 1 at a time

As i said this shyt hit me harder then any random murder because of the magnitude in numbers and the fact as a parent the idea someone can run up in school like that hits every person in this country whos a parent hard as hell and hits your soul like nothing else

i get where you coming from. and i dont totally disagree with you

the problem i have is acting as if noah showed no concern for gang violence and only needed this in ct to start thinking about gun violence. the other poster posted noah taking part in a charity event in chicago that was aimed at stopping gun violence in the streets of chicago. he even made it a point to bring that up (when he didnt have to) in his article to show that he not just using what happened in ct as his motivation but realizing that its a huge problem in the first place and seeing those kids get gunned down was just a last straw. he also recognizing the sensitivity of the subject.

again noah aint ali or somebody but the attempt to make it like he a c00n is just going too far.

i even remember noah sending a message to the victims of haiti after that disaster. dude is real.

So your mad because one child didn't get the media attention that a group of 20 6 years got that were murdered in school:mindblown:. I know plenty of people (including children) whom have been wrongfully murdered ; but that doesn't mean i should hold a grudge against 20 babies. nikka are you sick :heh:
