gotta agree, had he been doing that in utah or phoenix and then decided to hang em up because of the tragedy, then ok, that's what's up. but dude, you play in chicago, d-rose is from the area where all these kids are dying, why can't you do it for the slaughter in chicago? definitely a cue that this decision came from the organization or his handlers (dude isn't that bright)

Lemongrass, cherries, alkaline water
so countless people die everyday in america because of guns and he never decided to do it, put because of this particular tragedy he says no more:thumbsdown:

Did ya'll even read the whole thing :what: It wasn't just the Connecticut shooting that set it off but also what's going on in Chicago and throughout the country

We have a problem here with guns, so I’m trying to be a little compassionate. It’s not a joking matter. We have a serious problem with it in Chicago. It’s crazy. I mean this summer, the movie theater, it’s happening all the time. This is unheard of. Every story is horrific. The gun thing in this country is no joke.’’

But it took what happened in Conn to spark this epiphany and change. Just because he brought up what takes place in Chicago doesn't mean what takes place routinely in Chicago sparked this change. Clearly it didn't register then. He seen examples of gun violence everyday in that city on his TV since he was a rookie...and it still didn't spark this "change."

This is nothing new. Many black people don't value black lives much either.

shyt is forced, selective and corny.

I would've respected it if he did it cuz of what was happening in the city he plays.....but, nah fukk this

That's a good point.

Noah wasn't worried about that gun salute while there are literally hundreds of Black kids in the city he works in falling to gun violence.

Edit: And of course I didn't read the article. :lolbron:

This is an example of jumping on the bandwagon "national concern" over gun violence. It should have spark ones concern at a local level we may see on our tv screens everyday but tend to ignore because of the individuals involved.

Even in that article, Chicago kids are lumped in as filler material.

I said the same thing this weekend with regards to the Patriots not firing their muskets after a TD. Whats the point? NO one is associating that shyt with what happens in America everyday.

And worst of all, the Patriots will go back to firing that shyt off the next home game. :snoop:

lol at this thread. instead of saying good for him, you got nikkas arguing how his cause for concern is corny and contrived.

and for you idiots bringing up Chicago he addressed it.
But I think it’s important to be more critical and we have issues. I feel just as American as I do French and the issues are complicated, but you’ve got to be sensitive and a lot of kids are dying. In Chicago, a lot of kids are dying in the streets, so that’s why I’m not doing that anymore.”

The point is, IDIOT, Chicago didn't SPARK this change.

There's a bandwagonish quality to his concern.

Who gives a shyt?

Maybe what happened made him take a step back and say shyt really is fukked up. Who cares how he came to the decision?

BINGO!!!!!

As if gun murders aren't a routine occurrence in Chicago. It took THAT to happen in Connecticut for him to realize this.

Goes to show you how we as black folks are often water carriers over whose lives we value more rather than valuing all lives as one and the same.

to be fair 20 kids getting killed at one time is on another level of anything weve seen

What happened to these kids effected me more then any other andom strangers getting murdered just because of what kids represent..defenseless and innocence :manny:
