Who gives a shyt?

Maybe what happened made him take a step back and say shyt really is fukked up. Who cares how he came to the decision?

I do because it shouldn't take it happening to others for someone to suddenly care about something that frequently happens to people who look like me or you.

I know of people from Chicago that's long asked the President to do something. But it took something in Newtown, CT for him to do something now.

Lives are lost waiting for it to happen to people that "count."

The point is, IDIOT, Chicago didn't SPARK this change.

There's a bandwagonish quality to his concern.

Oh so because it took the tragic shooting of 20 babies in conn as well as the on going violence in Chicago to persuade his motives that makes him bandwagonish :childplease:

BINGO!!!!!

As if gun murders aren't a routine occurrence in Chicago. It took THAT to happen in Connecticut for him to realize this.

Goes to show you how we as black folks are often water carriers over whose lives we value more rather than valuing all lives as one and the same.

Wow, I'm usually the first to play the race card, but dog...children got shot up! I don't care what race it happens to, when kids are involved that shyt is sad no matter what. I don't even know if Noah is Black anyway, that makes this comment even more stupid.

so now Noah suppose to be some upstanding activist in chicago:heh: , im sure the death of 20 babies made him more willing to throw the shyt in the bushes.

"Many black people don't value black lives much either." m- Me

And fukk "playing a race card." What the fukk is that?

My point is......I don't care what race it happens to either. WHY did it take this to spark change? Was there not enough evidence in Chi-town?

Noah been involved with charities and working with the inner city youth of Chicago for years.

It's hilarious that he can be criticized for not wanting to shoot his guns after making a shot in the wake of a national tragedy. He is damned if he does and damned if he doesnt.

Hats off to a crew that includes Joakim Noah, Taj Gibson, Ed Pinckney, Quentin Richardson, Isiah Thomas and many others for putting a lot of heart into a multi-faceted effort to address gang violence in Chicago.

Writing about the experience for the website of the Chicago Sun-Times, Joakim Noah says it all went well.

Even though there were many doubters who thought something like this would never work, I felt really positive about the tournament and expected all of the players to cooperate. However, what I came away with at the end of the day was far greater than I could have ever imagined.

Going into the event on Saturday, I didn’t know who was fighting whom, or which guy was representing which gang. All I knew was that kids were killing kids at an unimaginable rate. My only goal that day was to listen to what they had to say and try to offer them some hope.

:snoop:

I'm in Chicago, and I'm a HUGE Bulls fan. I hear about the shootings all the time. Never once have I watched Noah drain a jumper and do the holster celebration and say, "Man that's fukked up cause nikkas dying from guns every day in the city".

I doubt he thought about it like that as well.

But when something happens like what just happened in Conn. then it forces you to think about the issue of guns. Not just what happened to those kids and teachers, but probably guns as a whole.

That's how I take it. Even after watching a few movies after that shooting, I'm like damn, guns are glorified and put on the screen like a muhfukka in this country.

Congrats to him and I give him props to that. But this gesture is manufactured PC crap married to bandwagoned media concern.
