Everyone has a right to defend they era and all that and I’m glad he spoke up for his era, but I do feel like this shyt heavily turns a lot of fans away from the game. I always loved the NBA and still watch it, but this shyt gets annoying. hearing players take turns shytting on other eras. Just like when new rappers shyt in the OGs and talk about how they not getting money like them or all this other shyt. I mean the OGs still have the right to defend themselves… NFL fans don’t have to constantly hear this shyt and the analysis is focused more on the actual sport. These NBA personalities and media covering the NBA are doing a great job turning fans away from the game , not offering real analysis, but just having petty ass conversations about hypotheticals. NBA viewership is way down and I know it’s a lot of variables people point to. Some say load management, some say bad execution of things like all star game and modifications on the game.. could be both but I feel like this is turning a lot of long time fans off too.

I can’t help but feel the hyper individualism in the sport contributes to that. It’s like the only team sport where people look at the stars as if they’re playing tennis and with only 5 guys playing each other at a time too I think they take their games a bit more personally with each other too idk, I think people just take sports too seriously in general. Like, it’s crazy, these guys get paid to play, literally play, we call it work but, it’s still literally a game, if the nba didn’t exist at most many people would be without a part time job and the full time employees would certainly be working elsewhere. NBA as a whole needs to chill and understand it doesn’t have the history of baseball or the social pull of football, even if it’s globally more popular. Need to take a cue from the soccer leagues, all the players get love in that realm, new and old, stars and bench riders,.
